“Trade Him”: D’Angelo Russell’s Post-game Comments After 39-pt Show in Lakers’ Loss Draws Massive Flak
The Utah Jazz powered through a LeBron James-less Lakers with a stunning 132-125 win! In a season-high fifth-straight victory for the Jazz, Lauri Markkanen led the scorers with 29 points. On the Purple & Gold’s side, despite scoring a season-high 39 points, D’Angelo Russell couldn’t pull his team over the edge.
Talking to reporters post-game, D’Lo seemed blissfully happy with his lot. He said, “It was fun just hooping… Just try to take this aggression and apply it to the next game.”
But the Lakers fans don’t look too happy with his comments. They were enough to draw the ire of one fan that he asked to “trade him.”
Another user gives props to the “great game”, but calls them out for not getting the win.
Another user throws some stats to further emphasize the point while taking a dig at a possible trade move for Russell.
Yet another fan brings back some Russell Westbrook memories during his stint with the Lakers. While Coach Ham and LeBron James urged the team to keep up the momentum and “get greedy,” Russ says what will go down as his infamous quote – “win, lose or draw, have fun”.
Unfortunately for Westbrook, the Lakers went on a three-game skid after this. Hopefully, the same fate doesn’t befall this Russell.
And finally, this fan is straight-up unimpressed with Russell’s score on account of the loss.
While D’Angelo Russell landed his season-high score, Anthony Davis had a triple-double. Even so, the Lakers failed to turn the wheels of fortune in their favor. Talking about the struggles, Russell said, “When our offense is going, it’s our defense that’s not. When our defense is going, it’s our offense that’s not. I really don’t know what’s going on.”
D’Lo might not know what’s going on, but Coach Hardy and his team knew exactly what to do.
The Jazz overpowered D’Angelo Russell and LA
Utah was determined to continue their winning streak. They are at their fifth consecutive win now. Having had a tough time throughout the season, it seems like the Jazz has finally found consistency. It was very well seen tonight, as they moved for the first time this season above .500. James’ absence due to an ankle injury hasn’t been kind to them either.

Aside from Markkanen, Collin Sexton (27), Jordan Clarkson (21), John Collins, and Keyonte George (19 each) contributed to their eighth straight win at home. Going into the second quarter, the ‘Salt Lake City’ set the tone for what was to come. They had 23 points off turnovers alone.
