Taylor Swift was seen showing off her new ring, which fans are convinced is from her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
After examining photos of the new ring, which Swift wore on the middle finger of her right hand during her birthday bash, fans noticed that it featured an oversized white opal stone in the center with smaller blue gemstones, which appear to be London blue topazes, surrounding the exterior.
Opal and blue topaz both hold special meaning to Taylor Swift and opal, specifically, has a connection to Travis Kelce, leaving fans assured the new piece of jewelry is from the NFL star.
Taylor Swift’s New Ring Costs How Much!?
Of course, the stunning ring is turning heads as it looks to be as large as 20 carats, according to Rare Carat gemologist Karly Bulinski.
Although she did not work on the design herself, Bulinski estimates that the price of the custom piece is in the range of $10,000, but Mike Fried of The Diamond Pro claims it is worth much more.
“The center stone on Taylor’s ring is massive and looks to be 15 carats. A high-quality opal of that size is incredibly rare, but not nearly as expensive as a diamond would be. I’d estimate it at around $175,000, if not more,” he told Page Six.
The ring features opal, which is Travis Kelce’s birthstone, and blue topaz, which is Taylor Swift’s birthstone, indicating the ring holds a “very sentimental” meaning to the couple.
“Opal is said to represent hope and purity,” Bulinski told Page Six when speaking on the stones of Swift’s new ring, while blue topaz is “said to help channel your inner wisdom.”
Fried also weighed in on the meaning behind the stones, claiming that “since ancient times, opals have symbolized good luck, fortune, and power — which seems to be particularly fitting for Taylor Swift.”
In 2016, Taylor Swift admitted that her favorite stone is an opal — so it seems that if Travis Kelce was, in fact, the one behind the purchase, he did his homework!
“My favorite stone is an opal because when I was bullied in school, my mom used to take me to T.J. Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry,” Swift told US Weekly at the time. “I thought opals were so beautiful, and somehow it made me feel better,” she continued, “We never bought them, just looked.”
While it is still unclear if Kelce is the one who gave Swift the new piece of jewelry, Miles Teller’s wife seemingly confirmed this to be true as she liked a social media post speculating Kelce gifted the ring.
Although Travis Kelce did not attend Taylor Swift’s birthday bash as he was prepping for his NFL game against the New England Patriots, the couple did eventually celebrate as the pop icon traveled to Boston to watch her boyfriend take the field.
The “Love Story” singer recently moved into Travis Kelce’s new $6M Kansas City mansion to spend the next few weeks alongside the NFL star — could a proposal be next?
