Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey seem to have found a new pastor three years after pal and Hillsong leader Carl Lentz was ousted from the church.
The 29-year-old Canadian singer and 27-year-old American model were seen leaving dinner with Churchome leader Judah Smith and his wife Chelsea Smith in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Justin – whose ex Selena Gomez recently revealed she is dating his collaborator Benny Blanco – was previously close to Hillsong pastor before he was ex-communicated from the church.
Now the power couple were seen with 45-year-old Judah who is the lead communicator of the Seattle-area megachurch and his wife Chelsea who is a social media influencer.
The foursome reportedly enjoyed a three hour dinner together in the affluent beach area of Malibu, California.
The Biebers are not the only celebrity followers of Churchome as Lana del Rey and Russell Wilson are devotees with the 35-year-old Denver Broncos quarterback even serving on the board of directors.
According to the website: ‘the Churchome community is built on the life and teaching of Jesus where everyone can find a home where they belong.’
Judah and Churhome were also recently embroiled in controversy as they were accused of forcing employees to give 10percent of their wages.
Employee Rachel Kellogg filed a lawsuit in May of this year with claims that Churchome and its leaders ‘engaged in a systemic scheme of wage and hour abuse against their employees’ according to The Seattle Times.
Among the allegations was that they had required that employees give 10percent of their gross earned wages per month as an offering and if they did not abide, they would face pressure, discipline, or even termination.
Speaking of church controversy, Justin previously had a well-documented friendship with Hillsong leader Carl Lentz before his fall from grace.
Carl, 45, was ex-communicated from the church in November 2020, after reports emerged claiming that he had been unfaithful to his wife, Laura.
In a shocking post at the time, Carl admitted to his infidelity and said he was ready to face the ‘painful consequences’ and ‘seek out the help that he needed.’
He then stepped away from the spotlight but has since made a return to social media.
Carl and his wife were also at the center of documentary series from Vanity Fair and FX titled The Secrets Of Hillsong.
The series looked at the megachurch’s meteoric rise and scandals which include sexual abuse allegations, moral failures and the alleged misuse of church funds.
Lentz brought the Hillsong megachurch to the US from Australia and led a charmed life in a $1.5 million home in New Jersey as lead pastor of New York City before his world came crashing down.
He was exposed for cheating on his wife and he was quickly sacked from the church.
Lentz used to attend glamorous parties, and jetting off on lavish trips, while serving as the lead pastor of Hillsong NYC.
His most notable celebrity friendship was with Justin and his wife Hailey Bieber who he grew so close to, the Love Yourself singer even lived with him for four months in 2014.
His other celebrity friends included the Kardashians, Drake, Vanessa Hudgens, and various NBA stars.
