Paris Hilton Addresses Backlash About Not Changing Baby Phoenix’s Diaper: ‘I’m Fully Involved’

Mom shamers were LOUD last week after Paris Hilton admitted to not changing her son Phoenix’s diaper until he was 1 month old on season 2 of Paris In Love. Not that it’s anyone’s business how someone else parents, but Hilton decided to clear the air — and it’s a great reminder for everyone to please stop judging moms, OK?

The Simple Life plan shared a different clip of Paris in Love on TikTok, taken on the day he came home from the hospital. In it, she tells her husband Carter Reum, “I just changed his diaper too. He had…he pooped finally!” she said with a smile. (Only parents know the stress of waiting for your child to poop and they finally do it!)

“Did you change it right before we left?” Reum asks. Hilton jokingly responds, “Yeah, so that was awesome.”

So she obviously knows how to change his diaper, OK? In the caption, she explained more.

“Hey there, it’s Paris. Just wanted to clear the air about something. On my show, #ParisInLove, I joked about changing a diaper for the first time, which, let’s be honest, was just me having a bit of fun – as you can see I changed his diaper the night I brought him home🥰,” she wrote.

“But, in all seriousness, when it comes to being a mom, I’m fully involved and loving every moment of it,” Hilton continued. “It’s interesting how a playful comment can be taken so seriously. Even though this season was the most real, authentic and raw I have ever been with my fans.”

She explained that she sometimes plays into “the whimsical character I portrayed on #TheSimpleLife. 👱🏼‍♀️” “It’s a role that’s hard to shake off completely,” the entrepreneur and socialite continued. “While I love a good laugh, I also believe in being real and responsible, especially as a parent. Let’s remember to find the humor in life, but also to cherish and respect the real moments. Thanks for understanding, Happy Holidays and much love to you all! 💖

Seriously, y’all. It was a joke! But even if it wasn’t — would you change every single diaper if you didn’t have to?!
