Hugh Jackman shares heartwarming family birth – after his children revealed they were ‘worried’ for their dad following split from Deborra-Lee Furness

Hugh Jackman announced some exciting news on Monday when he revealed a very anticipated birth finally happened in his home.

The Hollywood star, 55, took to his Instagram Stories to show his followers video of the moment a pigeon hatched her eggs on his window sill.

Excited for the happy moment, the Wolverine actor showed a clip of the bird doting over its baby in the nest, before posting a close-up snap of the squab and its sibling still emerging from the shell.

‘Been quietly waiting for this day!’ Hugh captioned the video.

It comes after Hugh was said to be finding solace in his grown-up children, Ava and Oscar, following his split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The actor has reportedly been ‘sad’ amid the high-profile divorce, according to Woman’s Day.

However, it appears his greatest comfort comes from his children, who have stepped up to support their father during this challenging time.

‘They know him better than he does and are constantly surprising him,’ a close friend told the publication.

‘They’ve become closer than he could have imagined and he can confide in them, whereas before he’d turn to Deb,’ the friend added.

Hugh’s daughter, recognising the signs of sadness in her father, reportedly initiated a ‘save Dad’ plan with her brother.

‘Ava and Oscar [have] really rallied around him and it’s made a huge impact. He always looks so happy when he’s with those two,’ the source continued.

Friends of the actor are hopeful that his deep bond with his children will help him overcome the current emotional slump.

The Logan star recently caused a stir on social media after he uploaded a series of bizarre close-up shots of himself, which left fans concerned for his mental state amid the breakdown of his 27-year marriage.

However, an insider close to Hugh has exclusively told DailyMail.com that he is doing well and is gearing up for the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which finally finished filming at the end of January after a lengthy delay caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike.

They also claimed that despite separating from actress and producer Deborra-Lee, 68, in September, he has no interest in dating or reviving his love life right now.

‘Hugh is aware of his fans and their concern for his well-being, but he is good,’ the insider said.

‘He is excited for Deadpool and being Wolverine again. That’s where most of his focus is going – on work and being present for that.

‘When it comes to his love life, he thinks it is funny that so many people are wanting to know all about it. He will get there again. It isn’t a priority, but if something materialized, he would make it a priority.
