Elon Musk’s sister pays tribute to dad Errol saying he ‘saved her life’ and was her ‘biggest fan & hardest teacher’

ELON Musk’s half-sister has paid a glowing tribute to their dad for being her biggest fan and hardest teacher.

Alexandra Musk-Steuart also sang their father Errol’s praises for saving her life during an armed break-in at their home when she was a child.

The Texas-based tech executive, 30, gave her appraisal in a written text sent to a South African TV station and seen by The U.S. Sun.

Her warm words contrast with Elon’s often strained relationship with 77-year-old retired electromechanical engineer Errol.

Known to her family as Ali, the mom-of-one wrote: “In my life, I have been influenced by many people across the world, but no one has quite influenced me like our father.

“I would not be who I am or where I am today without him.

“For my whole life, my dad has been my backup, my inspiration, and my biggest fan, and my hardest teacher.

“He has given me knowledge and an understanding of the world that I will use for the rest of my life.”

As an example of how far Errol had been willing to go as her dad, Ali referenced an incident in 1998 where he killed three armed intruders in South Africa while she clung to his leg.

Ali, then 6, and Errol were inside a rental property he owned in Johannesburg when they were confronted by a gang of seven men.

Errol previously told The U.S. Sun how he raced to grab his .357 Magnum gun and killed three of the criminals after they opened fire on him.

He said that Ali clung to him through the whole ordeal but didn’t scream or cry.

She is said to have later told a trauma psychologist that she felt OK about the shooting “because my dad won.”

Harking back to that moment, Ali wrote of her dad: “His actions speak much louder than he does.

“From saving my life when I was a little girl, to driving eight hours or more every weekend for five years to spend the weekend with me when I was in boarding school, to taking me sailing across the globe through treacherous waters so I could experience the wonders of the word, I have learned so much from him.

“But I have learned the most through our conversation.

“His invaluable experience and dedication have played a pivotal role in propelling us, his children forward.”

‘FAMILY IS EVERYTHING’

Errol and his Tesla CEO son Elon had a rollercoaster year regarding their relationship in 2023.

It saw the pair air some of their differences in public before reuniting for the first time in seven years in November.

The surprise meet-up came after Errol was left furious when he was portrayed as the villain in his son’s life in a bestselling authorized biography of the world’s richest man.

He disputed several of the claims made by author Walter Isaacson, who shadowed Elon for two years for his book but reportedly only spoke to Errol over the phone.

Earlier in the year, Errol insisted that – contrary to Elon’s public denials – he could prove he once owned an emerald mine in Zambia and used the proceeds to help the X owner and his younger brother Kimbal.

He has also told The U.S. Sun of his fears that he is going to be “crucified” in an upcoming biopic about Elon’s life.

Giving her own view of Errol’s parenting style, Ali wrote: “Through the time he would spend with us, talking and teaching us about the world, to opening our minds and helping us develop a passion for and understanding of the world, its history, mankind, and the future.

“He has always had a loving and unwavering commitment to his children.

“He helped shaped the way we look at the world.

“He helped us understand that there is no other option but to be open-minded, to think critically and to know that things in life and in the world may not always be what they seem.”

Ali added that her father had instilled “love and wonder for the world” in his kids and taught them to look at “the big picture.”

She ended the text with a list of key things Errol taught her, including “family is everything,” “always be open-minded things are not always as they seem,” and “surviving a difficult situation only makes you stronger.”
