The pop star and entrepreneur already had a home at The Century, a Los Angeles condo designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects

Rihanna is moving up in the world—specifically, about 13 floors.

A trust tied to the pop star and entrepreneur, 35, plunked down $21 million for a 40th-floor penthouse at The Century, one of Los Angeles’s most exclusive condo buildings, according to records from CoreLogic. Meanwhile, the “Umbrella” and “Lift Me Up” singer already owns a unit on the 27th floor of the building, records show.

The deal for the full-floor, 9,290-square-foot apartment closed the last day of March, records show. The buyer was listed as a trust with the mailing address to Evan Jehle, a partner at the New York-based business management company FFO and a member of the Global Advisory Board of Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation. Mr. Jehle has also handled several other property transactions for the musician, including two side-by-side properties in Beverly Hills. Representatives for his company did not immediately return a request for comment.

Lapro Property Trust, linked to billionaire Nick Molnar, co-founder of tech company Afterpay, was the seller, records show. He originally listed the property in the fall for $28 million with James Harris and David Parnes of Bond Street Partners at The Agency. They declined to comment for this article.

Mr. Molnar, in turn, bought the penthouse from “Friends” star Matthew Perry for $21.6 million in June 2021, Mansion Global reported at the time. The actor brought in interior designer LM Pagano to reimagine the interiors, and the seller did not appear to make any changes to the home, according to Dirt, which first reported Rihanna’s purchase.

Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, The Century is home to a number of bold-face names, including Candy Spelling, who owns the floor above Rihanna’s new penthouse, records show.

Built in 2010, the residence offers a great room with city views, an eat-in kitchen, a game room and a plush screening room, according to the previous listing. It also has four bedrooms—including a primary bedroom suite with a sitting area, fireplace, dual bathrooms and dressing rooms—and four terraces that offer panoramic views all the way to the ocean, the listing said.

Rihanna—also the founder of the popular Fenty cosmetics line—bought her 27th floor apartment in 2014 for $5.45 million, records with PropertyShark show. She is now the world’s richest female musician, with a $1.4 billion net worth, according to Forbes.

Representatives for Rihanna, who is expecting her second child, did not immediately return a request for comment.
