“I don’t know how I’m going to continue”: Zachary Levi Was Concerned for His Own Life After Robin Williams’ Tragic Demise at 63

In today’s world, individuals who openly discuss mental health issues are a rarity. Actor Zachary Levi stands out as one of these exceptional individuals who firmly believes in being vocal about mental health challenges. Having battled these issues himself, he understands the struggles of those dealing with depression and anxiety.

In a society where mental well-being discussions are often avoided, Levi’s straightforward approach feels both refreshing and crucial. Previously, during an interview, Levy recalled how the tragic demise of fellow actor Robin Williams affected him.

The actor breathed his last on August 11, 2014, and the cause of his death was suicide. The actor was 63 years old when he took this tragic decision to take his life. During an appearance on a show, his son Zak Williams discussed William’s struggle with anxiety. He said,

“It was something that was a daily consideration for him. The main thing for me was noticing how he went through great lengths to support himself while he could show up for others. It was clear that he prioritized his mental health throughout most of his life, at least that I experienced with him.”

Williams’ contribution to the film industry is not just limited to certain accolades and various films. The actor has inspired many around him, and one of them is Zachary Levi.

Robin Williams’ tragic death by suicide inspired many to take care of their mental health. The actor’s death had a major impact on Zachary Levi. During an interview, Levy expressed his admiration for Williams and said,

“Robin, he was a hero of mine. He was a really, truly, deeply empathetic person who really cared about other human beings, and yet was so tortured in his own mind. I think that’s maybe partly why he felt so obligated to bring joy into the world. I felt very, very akin to that.”

Reminiscing about the actor’s tragic death Levi claimed that his demise shook him from within. As the actor felt as if a happy soul like Williams could come across such a tragedy, how difficult would it be for him to face any such situation? The actor said,

“I felt like if he can’t make it, I don’t know how I’m ultimately going to continue to navigate through this life unless I can somehow figure out how to not keep falling into these places of depression and anxiety.”

Levi himself is cognizant of the struggle with depression, as he himself has faced the challenges posed by it. Before landing a role in the superhero film Shazam, the actor went through a breakdown that led to his hospitalization for three consecutive weeks under medical supervision. This period was a turning point for Levi, as he came to recognize the importance of prioritizing mental health and began advocating for others to do the same.
