A new report suggests Tom Brady could play a role in steering one particular head coach candidate to the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason.

Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce is reportedly set to interview for the Tennessee Titans vacant head coaching position over the weekend.

In the meantime, Tom Brady’s connection with a former Patriots teammate could actually help the Raiders land the Titans’ former coach.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Raiders could be a team to keep an eye on when it comes to Mike Vrabel.

“Tom Brady was at [Raiders] practice on Friday, their final practice of the regular season. It was the first time Brady had been at the facility since [former coach] Josh McDaniels and [former GM] Dave Ziegler were fired,” Breer explained in an appearance on FS1’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

“If Brady is going to be involved in this coaching search, you know who he’s very close with. The guy he played eight years with in New England.”

Albert Breer added that he considers Brady’s connection to Vrabel “stronger” than his connection to Harbaugh.

“The Raiders could offer Vrabel the opportunity to set up the whole team in his image, which was sort of what he was looking to do in Tennessee,” Breer said.

Breer may see the connection, but many Raiders fans would love to have Antonio Pierce as the head coach instead.

Pierce is “firmly in the mix” to be named the Raiders’ full-time head coach, but he is “exploring all options,” according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Pierce took over as the Raiders’ interim head coach in November after the firing of Josh McDaniels and led Vegas to a 5-4 record over the season’s final two months. That includes a Christmas Day win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

If the Raiders stray from Pierce, Tennessee could prove to be a solid landing spot for him, and Vrabel could end up in his spot in Vegas.
