Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady pulled off a practical joke that left many of his fans scared for a brief moment.

Brady recently met up with renowned American chef and social media personality Nick DiGiovanni to make avocado ice cream. On his Instagram story, Brady took a knife to a cutting board and instantly pretended that he accidentally cut off his finger.

Brady then holds up his hand and shows the (obviously fake) finger injury. DiGiovanni goes along with the joke, (kind of) pretending to be terrified.

DiGiovanni posted a video of the two making avocado ice cream on his Instagram page. In the video, Brady also takes a shot at the Atlanta Falcons by referencing the whole “28-3” thing.

The 45-year-old Brady suffered a finger injury in the Bucs’ Week 2 road win against the New Orleans Saints. The good news is that it’s nothing serious, and Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles confirmed that Brady is “ready to go” for Sunday’s Week 3 tilt with the Green Bay Packers.

Brady has completed 59.0 percent of his passes for 402 yards, two touchdowns and one interception to open the season. Despite the un-Brady-like statistical start to the season, the Bucs’ stingy defense has propelled them to a perfect 2-0 start.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion will be without star wide receivers Mike Evans (suspended) and Chris Godwin (hamstring) for Week 3. Julio Jones and Russell Gage are also questionable for the highly-anticipated showdown.

Brady is 3-1 in his career against Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, having won the last three meetings. Their most recent showdown was the 2020 NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field in which the Bucs held off a second half rally from the league MVP to win 31-26. Tampa went on to win Super Bowl 55 in their home stadium by defeating Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9.
