Robin Williams Helped Sharon Osbourne With Her Battle Cancer

Sharon Osbourne was diagnosed with colon cancer and chemotherapy had a heavy toll on her, both physically and emotionally. Sharon was so dejected at one point that she thought about quitting her therapy. Ozzy Osbourne phoned Robin Williams because he realized his wife needed motivation and Williams being a close friend of the Osbournes rushed to their aide.

Williams consented to visit Sharon and came over. He went directly to Sharon’s bedroom after getting to the Osbournes’ home. Williams climbed into Sharon’s bed and immediately started making her laugh. Williams’ arrival caught Sharon off guard and made her feel so happy that she completely forgot about her problems. She sobbed from laughing so loudly.

Williams entertained Sharon for several hours by cracking jokes and making her laugh and Sharon felt much better due to their conversation. She was determined to pursue her cancer treatments and her life-saving battle. Kelly and Jack Osbourne, the children of Sharon Osbourne, claim that Robin Williams’ visit marked a turning point in their mother’s struggle with cancer and gave her the resolve to carry on fighting.

“Dad said laughter is the best medicine and organized for Robin to come over and make mom laugh, and he just dropped everything and came over to the house and got in bed with Mom.

I just remember sitting at the bottom of the stairs and we went from crying, not knowing what to do, to just peeing ourselves laughing because we could hear Mom upstairs in her room laughing with Robin. And, the next day it changed everything and Mom went back to chemo.”

This statement was shared by Kelly Osbourne on the first episode of the Osbourne family’s podcast, The Osbournes Podcast.
