World’s first Tesla Cybertruck crash as Elon Musk’s ‘indestructible’ all-electric vehicle leaves Toyota a total wreck

ONE of billionaire Elon Musk’s Cybertruck’s has been involved in it’s first ever road crash only a month after they were first released.

Pictures show the mammoth Tesla dubbed “indestructible” spread across two lanes after smashing into a Toyota and leaving it a complete wreck.

The Toyota Corolla was reportedly being driven by a 17-year-old when it hit the steel truck and was flung across the road.

After being busted up the Corolla was first seen after being shared to Reddit and showed the car had been badly damaged at the front.

Its bonnet was flipped up and the bumper was hanging off as one of the headlights was shown ripped up and laying on the side of the road.

A second photo shows the Cybertruck in near perfect condition – exactly as Musk intended if the driver faced such an issue.

However a set of airbags on the left hand side have clearly gone off indicating the crash could’ve caused more damage than first thought.

The picture of the truck only shows the passenger side of the motor leaving some to ask if it really ended up unscathed.

One user wrote: “It looks like it would have been driver side corners colliding.

“We need to see the other side of the cyber truck.”

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that the two drivers were safe but the Cybertruck driver did suffer a minor injury.

According to The Verge, the Cybertruck had two passengers in the car with the driver when the head on collision happened travelling along California’s Skyline Boulevard.

The CHP said the accident occurred when the Toyota driver turned right and “subsequently struck a dirt embankment on the right shoulder.”

They continued: “The Toyota then re-entered the roadway, crossed over the double yellow lines into the northbound lane, and crashed into a Tesla Cybertruck travelling north on SR-35 northbound.”

The patrol team first to the crash scene also said the Tesla didn’t appear to be in autopilot when it crashed.

After first showcasing the never-before-seen motor back in 2019, Tesla were met with several problems in the production and distribution of their metal beasts.

The first Cybertruck model was eventually shipped out to the public in November 2023 – with this being the world’s first crash involving the big car.

Coming in at over 3,000kg the truck can go from 0mph to 60mph in a staggering 2.6 seconds.

The impressive heavyweight EV has a bulletproof exterior and a reported 450-mile range but it’s the shape and size of the motor that has intrigued and worried the world.

The Cybertruck isn’t yet available in most countries outside of the US as lawmakers have concerns over the cars safety and practicality.

It has sharp jagged edges, a staple of its chunky 4×4 design, that may not sufficiently pass strict European testing.

Not only that, but the sheer weight of the thing could be an issue.

The range-topping variant, known as the Cyberbeast, has the ability to carry up to 2,500kg of load in the back of it.

Filling up the pickup section would put it well over the 3,000kg limit for a standard UK driving licence, meaning owners would have to obtain a category C1 licence (a basic HGV licence), which can cost up to £3,000.

Musk has previously shown the new Tesla truck being bombarded with bullets from both handguns and a Tommy gun.

On his most recent interview on The Joe Rogan Experience he even let the popular podcaster and martial artist fire an arrow at full power at the truck – leaving it with barely a scratch.

Musk has previously said about the Cybertruck: “If you’re ever in an argument with another car, you will win.”
