After citing family being one of the reasons for his retirement, Tom Brady made his triumphant return to the NFL with a Sunday tweet. Brady will return to the Bucs for his 23rd NFL season in 2022; saying that there’s “unfinished business” in Tampa Bay.

Not too long after Brady’s announcement, social media had some jokes for TB12’s 40-day retirement.

“Tom Brady after spending 26 days with his family,” tweeted Rodger Sherman of the Ringer.

“In honor if Tom Brady retiring to spend more time with family and then unretiring six weeks later,” Jimmy Traina posted with a classic “Seinfeld” clip.

“’You said you wanted to retire to spend more time with your family,'” tweeted Josiah Johnson. “Tom Brady:”

“[Tom Brady] saw one SIIIIIUUUUU and realized he doesn’t like his family,” one user said of his visit with Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo. “What a time.”

“[Tom Brady] was a family man for like one month and said nah no thanks,” joked the Huffington Post‘s Philip Lewis.

“Tom Brady enjoying that retirement life with his family,” said Boston Sports Business Journal’s Conor Ryan.

There’s just something inside the TB12 that won’t allow him to walk away from the game. And that’s part of what’s made him the GOAT.
