NFL Fans Couldn’t Believe Amazon Prime Used A Ruthless Popular Meme To Troll The Pathetic NFC South During TNF

Amazon Prime Video couldn’t help but poke fun at the hapless NFC South during their “Thursday Night Football’ broadcast of the New Orleans Saints-Los Angeles Rams contest yesterday.

Heading into Week 16, the Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were tied for tops in the NFC South with 7-7 records. New Orleans fell to LA to drop to 7-8 on the year, so one more Bucs loss will ensure that this year’s division winner finishes no better than 9-8.

Here’s how Amazon Prime decided to troll football’s worst division during the broadcast:

Despite the presence of Tom Brady a year ago, the Bucs won the division with a losing record of 8-9. Though the Saints were the class of the division in the Drew Brees era from 2017 to 2020, the NFC South has only sent multiple teams to the postseason three times since 2014 (in the 2017 and 2020 campaigns).

And since the 2020 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (in 2020) are the lone NFC South club to have won a Super Bowl. Indeed, this has been football’s worst division for the better part of the past decade.

The Saints entered 2023 as the favorites to win it all, but they’ll need plenty of help now after losing on Sunday. Barring a late-season collapse, it looks like the Baker Mayfield-led Bucs will win it for the third straight year.
