NFL host Kay Adams has noticed an intriguing trend when it comes to building a Super Bowl contender.

On Tuesday’s Up & Adams, the sportscaster noticed that teams didn’t see much success after signing both their quarterbacks and No. 1 wide receivers on big-money deals.

Adams, 38, brought up the examples of the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers to prove her point.

In recent years, she noted, the Packers parted ways with top wideouts Devante Adams while the Chiefs bid goodbye to Tyreek Hill.

Since then, Kansas City has won back-to-back championships and Green Bay has registered a spectacular turnaround and nearly made it to the NFC title game last season.

“Not that I think either team is better without those two absolute bona fide superstars,” Adams said.

“Or that receivers shouldn’t get paid – that’s not the narrative I’m weaving here.

“But it can’t be a coincidence that those teams, both, found success after making said moves.

“And if I’m paying attention to it, you know GMs, front offices, and ownership groups are as well.”

Adams then presented a graphic that featured the last 10 starting QB/No. 1 WR combos to play in the Super Bowl.
