KANSAS City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes feels he still has so much to do before he can be mentioned in the GOAT debate.

The two-time NFL MVP has said he’s yet to prove himself the way Tom Brady as well as Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers did.

Mahomes, 28, boosted his GOAT credentials in February’s Super Bowl LVIII, helping the Chiefs become only the ninth NFL team to win back-to-back championships.

Overall, the ex-Texas Tech standout has already won three titles with the first coming during the 2019 season.

He ended each of the championship runs with the Super Bowl MVP award, joining Brady and Joe Montana as the only players in NFL history with at least three such honors.

But Mahomes believes he hasn’t been successful for long enough to be compared with the league’s all-time greats.

“You have to build a consistency of a career,” the quarterback told Time.

“You see that in any sport.

“I’ve had a great run. I think I’ve done a great job so far.

“But it’s hard to take away from what Tom [Brady] did for so long, what Peyton Manning did, or Aaron Rodgers.”

“There are so many guys, they were at such a high level for such a long time.

“In order to be in that conversation, you have to do that on a year-to-year basis.

“You can’t take it for granted that you did it the year before.”

Time has named Mahomes on its list of the world’s 100 most influential people.

On Tuesday, he was revealed as the magazine’s second Time 100 cover star after pop sensation Dua Lipa.

The publication had MLB icon Alex Rodriguez write a tribute message to the Chiefs star as part of the special release.

Patrick Mahomes On His Place In The GOAT Debate

And Rodriguez said Mahomes has always been a champion in his heart.

“Patrick has transcended the game of football to become one of the most respected athletes of all time, both on and off the field,” A-Rod wrote.

“His insatiable desire to win is outdone only by his passion to give back and make the world around him better.

“Patrick’s legacy will live on far beyond his playing days. And — as evidenced by his back-to-back Super Bowl wins — he’s not done yet!”

Mahomes can achieve a special feat with Kansas City next season.

If he leads the Chiefs to another championship, they will become the first-ever team to claim a Super Bowl three-peat.
