What made that scene particularly funny was the character’s age difference. While Barker was more than seventy years old when the movie was released, Sandler was not just thirty. Thus, watching these two get into a fight was a humorous sight.

During the 1996 MTV Movie Awards, Happy Gilmore won the award for Best Fight for the Fight of Adam Sandler and Bob Barker. It was a fight very close to the heart of the late Bob Barker, who passed away at the age of 99 in 2023. As per EW, Barker loved playing the role of the smacking wise guy in Happy Gilmore.
