Earlier this month, Shaquille O’Neal delivered high praise for Angel Reese.

Shaq did not hide his opinion on LSU star Angel Reese. Following the Tigers’ incredible run to the program’s first-ever college basketball national championship victory, Shaq declared Reese as the school’s greatest-ever athlete.

The former LSU great boldly proclaimed that he believes Reese is the best athlete to ever come out of the school. He even ranked her above himself.

“She’s probably the greatest athlete to ever come out of LSU sports. You heard it here first. Male and female,” said Shaq. “She delivered. She delivered that package. See, a lot of us got the package, and we still got the package in our truck. She delivered that package.”

Angel Reese thought he was doing a bit too much with his praise.

She told the big man about it, but Shaq did not seem to care.

Reese told the “Breakfast Club” that she asked him, “Do you know how much pressure you just put on me?” To which O’Neal replied, “I don’t give a f—.”

Reese was named the NCAA tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after leading LSU to the national championship. Across 36 games this season, her first as a Tiger, she averaged 23.0 points and 15.4 rebounds per contest. She also set an all-time Division I women’s basketball record with 34 double-doubles in a season.

This was just her first year in Baton Rouge after transferring from Maryland ahead of the 2022-23 season. That was all it took for her to become a legend.

She is likely to play two more years at the program with the way she is racking in the money with multiple NIL deals. It would make no sense to make less by taking her talents to the WNBA right now.
