After a very long break from music, he returned to the stage for surprise performance at Coachella during Ariana Grande‘s headlining set in April 2019.

And Justin Bieber has now credited the performance as what got him wanting to make music again and return to the spotlight.

The 25-year-old confessed the news in his new YouTube Originals documentary series, Seasons, alongside wife Hailey Bieber and long-time manager, Scooter Braun.

Star behind it all! Justin Bieber credited Ariana Grande encouraging him to join her on stage during her Coachella 2019 set as the reason to his return to music in new documentary series, Seasons

‘Justin was going back and forth whether it was the right time or not. I think Scooter was thinking he should have this opportunity to go out on that stage so he could be reminded himself and of who he is and what he does,’ said Ryan Good, friend and co-founder of Drew House, in a confessional.

The footage then showed Justin performing his hit song, Sorry, to a sea of adoring fans, before he told them, ‘I haven’t been on stage in like, in like two years.’

He left the stage with: ‘and by the way, album coming soon.’

He’s back! Justin’s team revealed that as soon as he got off stage he was ready to perform and create once again

Endorphins running high! Justin left the Coachella stage saying, ‘by the way, album coming soon’

‘It kind of seemed like a turning point for him to where he was like “I think I’m ready to do this again. I think I need to do this again”,’ Ryan later said.

‘As he was walking of stage, he said that to Allison [Allison Kaye – Justin’s management], he said, ‘I need to get back out here.’

Allison said Justin’s words were: ‘I want you to schedule me. I want to go to the studio and I want to dance and I want to go to the gym and I want vocal warm-ups in there. He wanted me to build him a rolling itinerary like I do when he’s working.’

‘The second that he actually asked to put the time in, I was like, “Oh, okay, now we’re ready to go back to work.”‘

Throwback: Justin’s first of the new 10-part series opened with him announcing his world tour for Purpose on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2015

Justin’s first of the new 10-part series opened with him announcing his world tour for Purpose on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2015.

The tour was meant to span from March 2016 – September 2017, however, Justin pulled out of the final 14 shows and called it quits in July 2017 following his London show for ‘unforeseen circumstances.’

Justin’s long-time manager, Scooter Braun, also confessed that in the earlier years he did push the star to keep performing and creating.

‘Early on in his career, we’d always say “let’s go for another one, another hit, another record, another thing, another tour,”‘ he began.

Too much: The tour was meant to span from March 2016 – September 2017, however, Justin pulled out of the final 14 shows and called it quits in July 2017 following his London show for ‘unforeseen circumstances’

All too much: They showed footage from Justin getting frustrated with the crowd cheering his name

‘And before Purpose, with Journals, I didn’t want him to tour, I wanted him to get healthy and then he got healthy and we went on Purpose and then at the end he was tired and said, “Look, I need a break again.”‘

Scooter continued: ‘And we took the break and he’s taken a very long break and in that time he’s found his wife, he’s grown a lot. I don’t put any pressure on that timeline anymore, he’s earned the right to do it in his own time.’

More of Justin’s team also called that time quite frightening as they could see his mental health greatly affected.

Justin’s wife, Hailey Bieber also appeared in the documentary to speak about watching the Baby singer grow up in front of the cameras.
