Alabama’s loss at Tennessee might cost the Crimson Tide more than just a game.

Nick Saban plans to investigate more into Jermaine Burton hitting female Vols fan

Footage would surface this week showing Crimson Tide WR Jermaine Burton allegedly striking a female Volunteers fan after the game Saturday night. The incident took place as Alabama’s players tried to get off the field while Tennessee fans were rushing the field following the 52-49 Vols win.

The woman stops in her tracks and holds her hands to her head as she turns in apparent shock while the player continues on his way. The clip was originally shared by Tennessee fan Emily Isaacs along with the caption: “Jermaine Burton smacking me in the head while walking past him after their loss Saturday.”

Nick Saban released the following statement on the matter:

“We are aware of the situation with Jermaine Burton as he was exiting the field Saturday. We are currently working to gather more information.”

Burton is Alabama’s 4th-leading receiver on the season. The 6-0, 200-pounder transferred to the Crimson Tide from Georgia and has 18 catches for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Alabama returns to action at home Saturday night against Mississippi State.
