RUMOR: 2 Super Bowl Contenders Emerge As “Top Landing Spots” For Derrick Henry In Free Agency

Derrick Henry, a two-time NFL rushing leader for the Tennessee Titans, is set to become a free agent.

After the Titans’ Final game of the 2023-24 campaign, Henry said his potential last goodbye to Titans fans. now, two teams are already emerging as potential suitors and they are some heavy hitters that would immediately put him on a winning team.

A rumor circulating is that the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles are ‘top landing spots’ for him.

Can you imagine a Philadelphia Eagles offense led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, with wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, tight end Dallas Goedert and All-Pro running back Derrick Henry in the backfield? Just frightening to even think about.

Henry is set to hit free agency for the first time and the Eagles are expected to be looking for a new RB1 with D’Andre Swift also likely headed out the door.

Henry was linked to the Ravens before the trade deadline last season after the team lost JK Dobbins to a torn Achilles. A deal never got close, but the Ravens could now pursue Henry without having to surrender draft compensation.

Oddsmakers have the Eagles (+350) and the Baltimore Ravens (+350) tied for the best chances of landing Henry this offseason.

While it’s not yet clear whether Henry will join a new team in free agency, he’ll be looking for a team that is willing to take a chance on a running back who is likely past his prime at 30 years old. Henry was still plenty productive in 2023. He finished with 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns and averaged 4.2 yards per carry.

Drafted by the Titans in 2016 out of Alabama, Henry racked up 9,502 rushing yards and 89 touchdowns during his time with Tennessee. He moved all the way to No. 2 in franchise history in rushing yards, just behind Eddie George.
