Kim Kardashian lost about 100,000 followers on Instagram after Taylor Swift released a song that was perceived as “calling her out”.

Kim Kardashian’s Instagram account had about 364.3 million followers last month, but now it has decreased to 363 million. The page attributes the decline to Taylor Swift’s new song – “thanK you aIMee”.

Taylor Swift released the album “The Tortured Poets Department” on April 19th with 31 songs. Prior to this, the singer announced that the new album only had 16 tracks, but on the release day, she surprised fans by introducing an additional 15 songs. “thanK you aIMee” belongs to the latter group with content revolving around a character who bullies others at school.

The song title is written in lowercase, with only the letters K, I, M capitalized to form the word “KIM”. The lyrics express discomfort towards a meаn girl named Aimee, with details that many people associate with the reality TV star. After the song was released, many people continuously commented “thanK you aIMee” on Kim Kardashian’s personal page.

Previously, these two beauties had an unresolved feud. It all started when Kanye West (Kim’s ex-husband) snatched the microphone from Taylor Swift as she received an award at the 2009 VMAs. Since then, they have publicly criticized and belittled each other in the media. The peak was in 2016 when Ye released the song “Famous” with humiliating lyrics towards Taylor Swift. Ye claimed that the “Blank Space” singer had approved the lyrics, but she denied it. Kim then posted a recording of a phone call between Kanye and Taylor, proving that they had agreed on this matter. The recording was unclear and was accused of being edited, leading the public to criticize the beauties as liars, manipulative, and called them “snakes”.

In the Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen show in 2019, Kim Kardashian said she had ended the feud with Taylor Swift. However, at the end of 2023, the singer of “Look what you made me do” brought back the 2016 scаndаl and how it affected her terribly.

She confided to Time magazine: “It made my mentаl state collapse to a level I had never experienced before. I moved to a strange country, didn’t leave the rented house for a whole year. I was afraid to answer the phone and distanced myself from most people because I no longer trusted anyone. I really declined and had a very difficult time.”
