Usher Breaks Silence On The Criticism He’s Been Receiving For Getting Handsy With Alicia Keys During Their Super Bowl Halftime Performance (VIDEO)

Usher has broken his silence on his controversial performance with Alicia Keys at the Super Bowl Halftime Show from two weekends ago.

The R&B icons performed their “My Boo” hit together at the Allegiant Stadium, with Usher drawing rife criticism as he got a bit too handsy with Alicia, even holding her from the back to end the bit.

Usher is reported to have gotten married earlier in the day while Alicia is the wife of producer Swizz Beatz, so the former’s actions prompted online rebuke, as well as all sorts of jokes and memes.

The “U Got It Bad” star discussed the performance during an interview with ‘The Breakfast Club’ on Monday and was in no way apologetic, claiming it was blown out of proportion. He insisted that it was just their routine for the song, adding that he, Alicia, and Swizz have shared a laugh about it.

Swizz responded to the online criticism the Monday after the Super Bowl to suggest that people were focused on the wrong thing and should have praised the performance instead of promoting negativity.

While he wasn’t contrite where it pertains to his performance alongside Alicia, Usher admitted regret over spanking Nikki Minaj’s butt during their VMA performance in 2014.
