BREAKING: Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Makes Shocking Retirement Announcement, Immediately Lands NFL Coaching Job
A veteran quarterback has announced he’s calling it quits following nine seasons in the NFL, having been part of three organizations.
According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, Sean Mannion is retiring after spending time with the Rams, Vikings, and Seahawks, with a career in coaching now on the mind.
Mannion, who spent the 2023 season on the latter’s practice squad, will get an opportunity to begin his coaching career with the Packers, having long been tipped to work in such a position due to his understanding of football.
“Former Rams, Vikings and Seahawks QB Sean Mannion is ending his nine-year NFL playing career and has accepted a position on the Packers’ coaching staff, a source tells me,” Henderson reported on Saturday. “He’ll work with QBs and the passing game.”
“I’ve heard from several people over the last few years who said Mannion was destined to eventually coach because of his intelligence and understanding of the game. He’ll get that start in Green Bay after finishing last season on the Seahawks’ practice squad.”

He made his last outing back in 2021.
