Cardi B has been fulfilling her court-ordered community service by making appearances at the NYPD Academy for a mentorship program, according to TMZ.

Instead of performing the usual labor-intensive service jobs, the I Like It rapper, 30, has been working with young girls in a program called Girl Talk as part of her 15-day service requirement.

She took to Twitter on Saturday to share her thoughts on the work.

‘Community service has been the best thing that has happened to me. Almost like a spiritual journey because sometimes I leave these centers in tears.’

The singer continued: ‘Those people that we leave behind they just need somebody to talk and a lil push and YOU might be able to change their life forever.’

Her community service sentence dates back to August 2018, when she was involved in a battery case and allegedly ordered an attack on two female bartenders at Angel’s Strip Club.

The apparent reason for the attack was that she believed her partner Offset had had an affair with one of them.

The Bodak Yellow hitmaker resolved the case in September of last year by pleading guilty to two misdemeanor charges while ten other counts, including two felonies, were dismissed.

She originally missed her first court-ordered deadline to have the 15 days completed and had to reappear in Queens Criminal Court in January to ask for an extension.

The court granted her request, and she was given until March 1.

While completing the work, the beauty seemed to enjoy herself at the station, having been caught on camera dancing around while one of her songs played in the background.

Officers and people working at the station cheered for her and sang along to her song.

After working with the young girls, the rapper took to social media to express her exhaustion after waking up early.

She posted a mirror selfie where she was decked out in designer goods, including a $2850 cropped beige bomber jacket.

In her hand, she carried a Balenciaga Yellow Tape hourglass bag, which can cost upwards of $3,000.

In the post, she wrote: ‘My brains are burning from waking up early, community service then studio….but I did the crime “I only have myself to blame.”‘

According to prosecutors, Cardi B and her entourage were targeting employees of Angels Strip Club in Flushing, Queens, over an apparent personal dispute.

She allegedly told eight people, including Tawana Jackson-Morel and Jeffrey Bush, to assault sisters Baddie Gi and Jade.

In 2019, Cardi rejected a plea deal that would have given her a conditional discharge. Prosecutors then presented the case to a grand jury and obtained an indictment that included the two felony charges.

During sentencing, prosecutors described the melee saying: ‘The victims allegedly had glass bottles hurled at them, alcoholic drinks thrown in their faces, and one woman’s head was slammed into the bar.’

The plea deal also stipulated that Cardi supply the court with a DNA sample and prohibits her from contacting the victims in the case for three years.

Her statement following the sentence read in full: ‘As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me.

‘I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to. These moments don’t define me, and they are not reflective of who I am now.’

She continued: ‘I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most—the music and my fans.’
