A peek into Alexandra Daddario’s minimalist bedroom reveals a stunning statement piece

The actress has mastered white bedroom styling – featuring natural wooden accents and a headline-making focal point

Alexandra Daddario

With its enduring style and versatility, the appeal of a minimalist white bedroom is easy to understand. White is almost impossible to get wrong – one reason why it’s enduringly popular – but knowing how to style this shade is another question. This is where Alexandra Daddario comes in.

The White Lotus actress shared a look inside her white bedroom – demonstrating how to use the color as the perfect base. The brilliant white shade juxtaposes the room’s natural wooden features, including the dark beams and flooring. It also poses no competition to the room’s stand-out piece: her Hästens bed.

You may already know about Swedish bed makers Hästens – renowned for creating one of the world’s most expensive beds. Their pieces begin at around $7,500 for a 90cm Excel, but their most expensive models have sold for $588,990 and beyond. Naturally, they make some of the best mattresses, too. But for Alexandra, it’s the room’s focal point (beyond her fabulous outfit, obviously).

Alexandra Daddario is not the first celebrity to sleep on a Hästens – as famously, Drake also made headlines for having one of their $400,000 beds in his Toronto home. However, unlike the rapper’s modern, mirrored bedroom, Alexandra has opted for a pared-back, natural space.

The actress has never disclosed where she purchased her crisp white bedsheets, but after investing in a mattress such as this, we’d be confident in suggesting they’re some of the best on the market.

We’ve found some similar options below if you want to mimic the crisp, clean look she’s created.

Alongside Hästens’s iconic blue and white gingham print, she has interrupted the white space with a gray-blue bedside table, topped only with books.

Alexandra’s minimalist bedroom allows the wooden architectural features and the distinct Hästens blue to make the statement they deserve. But how can this translate to our homes? While we can’t all own a Hästens, designer Tama Bell says we can learn from her use of color – and how her textured headboard stands out.

‘We love all white because it is crisp and clean and allows us to layer on top with color and texture in furnishings and textiles,’ Tama says. ‘This hue is light, bright, and classic. It allows your room to direct the aesthetic through the furnishings and accessories. It allows the other pieces to pop on a simple base that is neutral.’

Tama Bell is a certified designer and founder of Tama Bell Design, a studio based in Sebastopol, California. She describes her design style as European traditional mixed with the California coast – demonstrated through designs that are ‘quiet, elegant and comfortable.’

Experimenting with statement headboards, much like Alexandra’s, is a great way to incorporate color – without sacrificing a minimalist scheme. However, headboards aside, there are other ways to add just the right amount of vibrancy to our bedrooms.

‘Pair white paint with a vibrant rug to anchor and enliven the space. Or, add color and texture to fabrics through your pillows or window treatments,’ Tama says.

‘For the right white, pay attention to the undertones when selecting and what feeling you are trying to create in the space. We love warm, off-white tones – used en masse walls on ceilings and trim – to encapsulate and create a cozy, modern feeling.’
