The ‘Argylle’ Actor, Who Confirmed His Tenure As The Man Of Steel Ended In 2022, Is Reported To Have Offered A Role In Marvel Cinematic Universe Which He Accepted.

AceShowbiz – DC Studios’ loss is Marvel Studios’ gain. Henry Cavill may not be done with superhero movies after his tenure as Superman came to an end as he has reportedly taken a leap of faith into Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to a report, the British actor has signed up to join the MCU, but his role is still unknown. There were rambles on the Internet that the 40-year-old hunk was offered the role of Doctor Doom and that he would make his debut as the villain in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” reboot, but the news has been debunked.

Reliable movie scooper DanielRPK laughed off the report which said Cavill would star as the “Fantastic Four (2024)” villain. “LMAO now you just lying,” so he reacted to the tweet posted by Marvel News and Updates.

Later, MyTimeToShineHello confirmed that the “Argylle” star was never offered the role of Doctor Doom. “He was offered something else and he accepted,” the account claimed. When a fan doubted the scooper’s claim, it replied, “You will find that I’m not [lying], sooner than you think,” suggesting that an official announcement is imminent.

Henry Cavill is reported to have joined MCU.

With the tease from MyTimeToShineHello, it seems likely that Cavill will appear in a Marvel project that is coming soon. Since he has been ruled out as Doctor Doom, speculation has been running rampant regarding who he might be playing.

There are rumors that the “Enola Holmes” star could be offered the role of Sentry, replacing Steven Yeun who dropped out of the role for Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” earlier this year. Production for the project will begin in March or April, so it seems to fit the detail of the latest report.

Cavill previously has contemplated about playing a Marvel character should the studio bring him into the fold. He told THR that he’s not interested in a character who was already played by another actor, but he’d like to play Captain Britain.

“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else because everyone’s doing such an amazing job,” he shared.

“However, I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that – like the way they modernized Captain America. There-s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”

Cavill was part of the DCEU since 2013, beginning with his appearance as Superman in “Man of Steel”. He reprised the role in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, “Justice League” and “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”.

Following a brief cameo in “Black Adam”, which was supposed to be followed with a “Man of Steel” sequel, he confirmed in December 2022 that the project was not moving forward after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over leadership at DC Studios.
