ANDRE Braugher has died at 61.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star died Monday following a brief illness, according to Deadline.

Fans are taking to social media to pay tribute to the two-time Emmy winner after his passing.

“I’m in total shock! Amazing in Homicide, hilarious in Brooklyn Nine Nine. R.I.P. Legend,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“What? No, I’m shocked. Just out of nowhere. RIP man. Will miss you Captain Holt,” another shared.

Andre is best known for his work on Homicide: Life on the Street, Men of a Certain Age, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

The actor is survived by his wife, actress Ami Brabson, and his three sons.

Executive producers share statement

Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s executive producers, including co-creators Dan Goor and Michael Schur, shared a statement about Andre Braugher’s passing with Deadline.

“Like everyone who was fortunate enough to know Andre, we are heartbroken by the news of his passing,” the statement said.

“He was one of the most talented dramatic actors in history, and then he decided to try comedy, and he was instantly one of the funniest people ever to do it.

“But even greater than his acting talent was the happiness and joy he brought to those around him.

“And his smile… he had the greatest, brightest, most wonderful smile.”

The statement concludes: “Our thoughts and love go to his beautiful, amazing family, whom he loved more than anything. We are grateful for the time we had with him.”

Brooklyn Nine-Nine editor remembers actor

Director and editor Ryan Case, who edited the pilot of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to remember Andre Braugher with a series of tweets.

“I can’t stop crying,” the editor wrote.

“I have so many wonderful things to say about this amazing man who was so immensely talented and kind to me.

“So many of my favorite moments editing and directing were because of him. Gone way way way too soon. My heart aches for his family and friends.”
