Henry Cavill eliminates Superman after many failures, revealing the best role of his life

Henry Cavill claims that Warhammer 40K is his greatest privilige in his career!

Henry Cavill is all set to move ahead with his dream project of adapting the video game Warhammer 40,000 into a television series. The concept is also reportedly backed by Amazon Studios so funding is not a problem for Cavill.

Although the actor is quite excited to work on the series, the road that led Cavill to this point was not easy. From getting fired as Superman to rejecting Netflix’s The Witcher for future seasons, Cavill reportedly dissed the role of Superman as per recent news!

Henry Cavill Allegedly Dissed His Role of Superman

With the recent release of his latest film, Argylle, the actor has been making headlines all over the world. Working with iconic action director Matthew Vaughn and starring alongside an ensemble cast of iconic actors, Argylle was a truly unique attempt in the thriller-spy genre.

In a recent appearance with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confusedpodcast the duo discussed Henry Cavill’s Hollywood career and the various roles that he has taken up over the years. Seemingly out of the blue, Cavill allegedly dissed his role of Superman by saying something about his upcoming Warhammer 40,000 project.

The actor reportedly said that the Warhammer 40K project is “the greatest privilege of my professional career”.
“It is the greatest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity. I can’t say too much. Again, it’s early days, still. But to have this opportunity to bring it to the screen and be at the tiller so it can be faithful is key to me.”

Cavill further continued, “This is the stuff I spend my free time daydreaming about … and I get to bring it into life. There is no greater reason than I joined the industry than doing something like this”

Despite a generous effort by Matthew Vaughn, Argylle turned out to be an underwhelming experience for some of the cinemagoers. As the interview continued, the director stated that people should spend less money on franchises like Superman, James Bond, and, Harry Potter!

Matthew Vaughn Wants People To Try Out New IPs

Well, Vaughn does have a point. With the underwhelming performance of Argylle, Matthew Vaughn, who was sitting alongside Henry Cavill, made some valid points. Talking about IPs and how people would put money in pre-existing franchises rather than newly made characters, Vaughn revealed that people should also try their money on newer IPs.

”I learned what’s hard about doing new IP is in theory, you need to spend more money, you need to educate to people what the new IP is. You can’t just do the same rules for branded IP. They’d much rather spend more money on Superman, James Bond, Harry Potter. I’m like, ‘Spend less money on that, guys!’”

Argylle received an average rating of 6.1/10 on IMDB and a meager 34% on Rotten Tomatoes. With an estimated budget of around $200 million, the film will probably have a tough time covering up its expenses. The 2024 film is currently screening in theaters across the world.
