Henry Cavill fans are still desperate to see him play James Bond

Henry Cavill fans still think the man could play a perfect James Bond, and we couldn’t agree more, he deserves the role.

It’s been a busy few years for Henry Cavill. We all know his best-known role was playing Superman in several DC live-action films, which has since come to an end as James Gunn reboots its cinematic universe, starting with Superman: Legacy.

Cavill then landed his dream role as Geralt in The Witcher Netflix show but is now set to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth, and now he’s moving onto a Warhammer 40k show with Amazon Video.

Yes the man has been a very busy bee indeed, but fans are eying up another perfect role for him that honestly seems too good to be true, Bond, James Bond.

It wouldn’t be his first role as a suave super spy as he acted as something similar in The Man From Uncle (2015) and Mission: Impossible- Fallout, but fans are begging for his casting as the most famous spy in the world.

Taking to Twitter a post cited his departure from Superman and The Witcher as a sign he can finally play James Bond,” and fans couldn’t agree more.

One described it as simply “another role he is PERFECT for,” with another saying “if so, then I am 100% here for it.” Some were a bit more sceptical, and had their own fan-casts in mind like Tom Hiddleston or Tom Hardy, but for the most part people agreed Cavill was a no-brainer.

The future of James Bond has been top secret for some time now. In Daniel Craig’s last film as the character, No Time To Die, Bond finally met his end in an emotional finale. This has led to speculation the film series will be “rebooted” though this is unconfirmed.

Regardless of what the future holds one thing is certain, Henry Cavill deserves a chance to audition, it was practically made for him.

Playing the role of James Bond 007 is one of the most prestigious in all of Hollywood and anyone that is next in line to fill the void of a departing actor certainly has a huge task at hand.

Whether it’s the late great Sean Connery or Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan or the more recent Daniel Craig, fans of the 007 movie franchise can’t wait to see who’s next in line to say “shaken, not stirred”.

The most recent to play the iconic role is Daniel Craig, who debuted in the 2006 Casino Royale remake before hanging up the tuxedo in 2021’s No Time to Die. However, long before Craig’s time as the 00 agent came to an end, fans have been speculating, who’s next?

One name that is on the tip of most tongues is Man of Steel and Netflix’s The Witcher actor, Henry Cavill. Some of you may or may not know that Cavill nearly played the role of James Bond in 2006’s Casino Royale, meaning that Daniel Craig almost wasn’t one of the most beloved 00 agents ever.

As reported by IGN (via The Express), Henry Cavill was said to have given a “tremendous” audition, according to Casino Royale director, Martin Campbell.

“He looked great in the audition,” said Campbell. “His acting was tremendous. And look, if Daniel didn’t exist Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape… very handsome, very chiselled. He just looked a little young at that time back then.”

It remains to be seen who will take on the role of James Bond following Daniel Craig. A few names have been mentioned with the likes of not only Henry Cavill but also Tom Hardy and John Boyega. Yet, it’s been reported that one name has been ‘sealed’ and is ‘set to sign’, if not already.

One other popular name being mentioned amongst fans is Idris Elba, sadly it seems that the charismatic actor has been put off from ever playing James Bond due to the ‘racist backlash’, which is a damn shame.
