Film fans in Hollywood could have been forgiven for thinking the Oscars had come to town early with the sheer volume of A-listers hitting the red carpet last night.
The premiere of Brad Pitt’s latest film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button drew a host of stars including Jennifer Lopez, Cate Blanchett, Eva Longoria, Tilda Swinton, Angelina Jolie and the man himself.
The star-studded event turned out to be the battle of the red carpet mums as new mothers J.Lo, Angelina and Cate showed off their post-baby curves to photographers.
One hot mama: Jennifer Lopez showed off her post-baby curves in a flowing, low-cut cream gown
Jennifer had a night off parenting 10-month-old twins Max and Emme to mix with her Hollywood contemporaries. She showed off her impressive cleavage in a plunging cream gown with flowing train, which she teamed with a woolly shawl and bejeweled clutch purse.
With her car crash curves and attention-seeking dress, Jennifer easily outdid her fellow A-listers – even Angelina Jolie, who like her has recently given birth to twins.
Star of the show: Busy parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went for the easy wardrobe of all-black
Angelina arrived on the arm of her partner Brad Pitt in a loose-fitting strapless black gown by Versace, teamed with earrings from the Ralph Lauren Vintage Collection.
Despite opting for more colourful ensembles during her recent pregnancy with twins Knox and Vivienne, since the birth she has reverted to her signature low-key black.
The mother-of-six looked pale, but happy as she supported her partner of four years, who looked dapper in a Tom Ford tuxedo.
Taking risks: Cate Blanchett wore a bell-shaped Alexander McQueen creation, while Eva Longoria went for a Karen Millen satin dress
She should have been star of the show given it was her film, but Cate made a fashion faux pas in a gold, bell-shaped Alexander McQueen gown, teamed with a flesh underdress and peep-toe heels.
Oscar-nominated actress Cate is also a new mother, after giving birth to her third son Ignatius in April.
Speaking to reporters on the red carpet, she praised her co-star Brad for his humanitarian work.
She said: ‘I happen to really think Brad is a great human being, and he has such a particular take on the world.’
Signature style: Angelina opted for her usual red carpet outfit, a black dress by Versace
Ladies in black: Like Angelina, Julia Ormond also went for the strapless black look, while teen actress Emma Roberts – niece of Julia – wore a pretty lacy number
Also on the red carpet was Brad and Cate’s co-star Julia Ormond, who also went for a similar style of gown to Angelina and opted for a strapless black dress.
Julia Roberts’ actress niece Emma Roberts, 17, looked pretty in lacy black number and newly-dyed raven hair.
Sharon Stone arrived in a female tuxedo with a mystery man on her arm, while Eva Longoria arrived solo without husband Tony Parker.
The Desperate Housewives star went for high street chic in a £157 Karen Millen, blue satin dress teamed with t-bar shoes and a black clutch.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is set for release in the UK in February.
Starry night: Tilda Swinton wore a muted chiffon dress, while Sharon Stone – with a mystery man – kept it simple in a black tuxedo
