On Wednesday, Cardi B and Offset took to Instagram to announce that they had officially welcomed their first child together. According to the posts, their daughter was born on July 10 and is named Kulture Kiari Cephus.
Of course, fans are freaking out — but the name reveal has been particularly exciting and, at times, confusing, with many wondering about its origin.
According to the posts, their daughter was born on July 10 and is named Kulture Kiari Cephus.
Fans were quick to point out that Offset, which is the rapper’s stage name, was born Kiari Kendrell Cephus. Their daughter’s middle and last name both seem to be a direct homage to his roots.
Lissen, Cardi B's name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanza and Offset's name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, they couldn't just name their baby Jennifer.

It’s unclear exactly what inspired the baby’s first name. But considering Cardi B already revealed that Offset came up with the name himself, it seems safe to assume that Kulture is a nod to his music career.

“My dude named the baby,” the “Bodak Yellow” rapper told Ellen DeGeneres in April. “I really like the name … It’s, like, almost tricky but when it comes out. It’s like, ‘Ah!'”
But regarding the decision to substitute culture’s “C” with a “K,” many have speculated that Cardi B herself may have had some influence.
