Fans think several songs on the album are about The 1975 frontman

While Taylor has previously sung about some of her famous exes – with Jake Gyllenhaal, Calvin Harris and John Mayer being among them – they have usually remained tight-lipped about their reactions. However, Matty spoke about the new album after being approached by a paparazzi in Los Angeles.

When asked about what he thought of Taylor’s ‘diss’ track about him, he told ET: “My diss track? Oh! I haven’t really listened to that much of it, but I’m sure it’s good.”

The brief interaction prompted a mixed response on social media, with some fans suggesting that Matty appeared nervous when questioned about Taylor, while others speculated that their short-lived relationship was orchestrated as a PR stunt. One fan remarked, “After watching a theatrical performance of an intimate moment, I am 100% convinced he knew long ago exactly what was supposed to and did happen with TTPD’s release.”

Another fan noted, “He looked kinda terrified for a sec,” while a third praised his response as mature, considering he’s Taylor’s ex.

Speculation has arisen regarding several tracks believed to be about Matty, including “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” “My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys,” “But Daddy I Love Him,” and “Fresh Out the Slammer.” Lyrics from “But Daddy I Love Him” include, “I’d rather burn my whole life down/ Than listen to one more second of all this bitchin’ and moanin’/ I’ll tell you something ‘bout my good name/ It’s mine along with all the disgrace/ I don’t cater to all these vipers dressed in empath’s clothing.”

In I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can), the lyrics read: “The jokes that he told across the bar were revolting and far too loud/They shake their heads, saying, ‘God help her’ when I tell ‘em he’s my man/But your good Lord doesn’t need to lift a finger I can fix him, no really I can.”

The album was very complimentary about Taylor’s current beau, Travis Kelce, and his mother Donna has opened up about listening to the new music, saying: “I listened to the whole album, and I listened to it all morning long when it was released. I was just very impressed. She is a very talented woman, and I think it is probably her best work.”

Of course, Travis got a sneak peek himself, and previously opened up about it in a press conference, saying: “I have heard some of it. It is unbelievable. I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops.”

The relationship between Taylor Swift and Matty Healy is considered short-lived and attention-grabbing. While there isn’t much official information about this relationship, rumors circulated that they dated in April 2023. The speculation arose after Taylor released the album “The Terminal Petting Zoo,” which reportedly contains songs written about Matty. However, both parties kept details about this relationship quite discreet, and not much was revealed. This relationship also ended quickly, and Taylor subsequently began dating Travis Kelce. Many details about this relationship remain mysterious and have not been widely disclosed.
