According to the Daily Mail, Jennifer Lopez sought help from Taylor Swift and renamed her nationwide tour from “This is me… Now” to “This is me… Live The Greatest Hits” in an attempt to change her luck. However, ticket sales for the upcoming shows of the singer do not look promising.

With just a few weeks left until the promotional performances for her 9th studio album, Jennifer Lopez is facing a situation of sluggish ticket sales. The official seating map on Ticketmaster shows numerous empty seats, with some places having over 50% vacancy.

Particularly, ticket sales in Denver, Colorado, and Tulsa, Oklahoma are reportedly “especially poor,” with a significant number of empty seats. The Daily Mail also predicts that Jennifer Lopez might be facing the risk of substantial losses on this tour.

The situation is similarly bleak in more bustling locations such as the Kaseya Center in Miami on June 28-29, and the performances at Madison Square Garden, New York on August 16-17.

Most tickets were sold for the opening night, with significant vacancies for the subsequent performances, especially in New York (August 17). Scalpers are only reselling tickets for the opening night in Orlando, Florida on June 26.

Currently, Jennifer Lopez’s concert is only sold out in a few locations such as Newark, New Jersey (USA), Toronto, and Montreal (Canada) in August. Ticket prices for Jennifer Lopez’s live show range from $651 to $4,198 per ticket.

Back in March, Jennifer Lopez quietly canceled seven performances across the US, including Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans, and Houston (from August 20-31), due to poor ticket sales.

Jennifer Lopez faces the possibility of financial loss due to poor ticket sales.

After canceling shows, she renamed the tour to “This Is Me… Live The Greatest Hits.” According to Billboard, this was a strategy to attract audiences to her entire career, rather than focusing solely on a new album release after 10 years.

“This decision was inspired by Taylor Swift and Madonna, two stars who had successful tours in the past year. Jennifer changed course as a way to appeal to audiences, following Taylor Swift’s example. She saw how well Swift did with The Eras Tour – a journey through her music career,” a source told the Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail suggests it’s not surprising that Lopez sought advice from Taylor Swift, who holds the record for the highest-grossing tour by a female artist of all time (over $1 billion).

Explaining Jennifer Lopez’s ticket sales slump, branding expert Hayley Knight mentioned ineffective PR and fan loyalty as issues.

“Unlike Taylor Swift, Madonna, Britney Spears, or Beyoncé, J.Lo doesn’t have a large loyal fanbase. While audiences may know and listen to her music, they might not feel compelled enough to buy tickets to her shows,” the expert said.

“This Is Me… Live The Greatest Hits” marks Lopez’s comeback after five years, following her 2019 tour that grossed over $50 million. Prior to that, Lopez’s comeback album didn’t impress much. It debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200, marking her first album outside the top 20 of the music chart.

Following the cancellation, Ben and J-Lo took a brief hiatus before rekindling their romance, only to officially call it quits in January 2004.

Yet, by April 2021, J-Lo and Ben rekindled their romantic connection.
