BOW WOW TEASES NEW CHRIS BROWN COLLABORATION AS PART OF MUSIC COMEBACK

Bow Wow has teased his return to music, and it looks like Chris Brown will be involved

Speaking to fans on Instagram Live over the weekend, the rapper and singer revealed that he’s plotting a musical comeback and has a collaboration with his close friend Breezy on the way.

Bow Wow Says Chris Brown Is The "Only Friend I Have In This Industry"

“Shoutout to my brother CB. I love you, brother. Thank you for the shoutout. I’m not going to make the announcement today, but me and CB got some shit. And that’s all I’m gonna say.”

He added: “I just want to bless y’all with what I’ve been working on for so long, for the past year and a half. Music is on the way. More music is on the way. More music…

“You see how I didn’t say no movies, right? Music. I’m back on my shit. And I’m telling y’all now, if you ever counted me out, I feel bad for you.”

Bow Wow’s last album, New Jack City II, arrived in 2009, although he released a series of mixtapes in subsequent years, with the most recent being 2019’s Greenlight 6.

This wouldn’t be the first time he’s collaborated with Chris Brown as the pair have teamed up on songs like “Shortie Like Mine,” “Ain’t Thinkin’ ‘Bout You” and the remix to Breezy’s breakout hit “Run It!”

In other news, Bow Wow recently credited with T.I. having a major influence on his music career, despite his previous mentor-apprentice relationship with Jermaine Dupri.

In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, the Like Mike star asked about his relationship with Tip and responded by looking back on the creation of his third album, 2003’s Unleashed.

During the making of Bow Wow’s third album, he found himself in a pivotal moment of his career, transitioning away from the direct mentorship of Jermaine Dupri and into a more collaborative environment. As Bow Wow recalls, this transition was facilitated by Kawan “KP” Prather, a renowned figure in the music industry, who suggested bringing in T.I. to work on the project. Little did Bow Wow know at the time, this collaboration would not only shape his album but also significantly impact his growth as an artist.

Before T.I. became the household name associated with hits like “King” and “A.T.L.,” he was still on the rise, referred to by Bow Wow as “young Tip.” Despite his burgeoning fame, T.I. dove headfirst into the creative process with Bow Wow and another collaborator, R.O.C., to craft the tracks for the album. Their synergy in the studio was evident, with each artist contributing their unique perspectives and talents to the project.Chris Brown on Lack of Attention Given to New Album: 'Seems Like Y'all Only Invest in the Negative Stories' | Complex

One standout example of their collaboration was the lead single “Let’s Get Down,” where Bow Wow, T.I., and R.O.C. each wrote a verse, showcasing their individual lyrical styles while maintaining a cohesive vibe throughout the track. However, T.I.’s impact extended beyond just writing verses; he became a mentor figure for Bow Wow, imparting valuable knowledge and insights into the intricacies of songwriting.

In the studio, Bow Wow found a sense of freedom and guidance in T.I.’s presence. T.I. not only provided answers to Bow Wow’s questions but also served as a teacher, instructing him on elements like cadence, bars, and song structure. Through their interactions, Bow Wow absorbed lessons that he had previously sought from Jermaine Dupri, solidifying a bond of respect and admiration between the two artists.

Even as time passed and their careers evolved, Bow Wow still holds T.I. in high regard, referring to him as “my big bro.” Their collaboration on Bow Wow’s third album not only resulted in a successful project but also left an indelible mark on Bow Wow’s growth as an artist. T.I.’s influence in the studio transcended mere collaboration; it was a mentorship that shaped Bow Wow’s artistic journey for years to come.
