Julia Fox has revealed how her public romance with Kanye West left scars that she is still dealing with.

The artist and actress told this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine that she would not date another celebrity so openly after her experience with the controversial rapper.

‘What I find happens so often in public relationships – at least what happened to me, and maybe I’m just scarred from it – is that you become known as that person’s girlfriend’ the 34-year-old said.

‘And I just don’t want to uphold that. I want to be able to make it on my own. I don’t want anyone to be able to attribute my success to a man in my life’ she continued.

‘If anything, men are an obstacle I have to get through. It has never helped me.’

Julia’s highly publicized, short-lived fling with Kanye came in January 2022, following his split from Kim Kardashian.

During a conversation with InStyle, the Uncut Gems star opened up about her challenges with being solely recognized as one of the musicians’ former partners. Reflecting on her brief relationship with the 46-year-old West, the actress revealed feeling disheartened by the attention garnered from their short-lived romance, expressing a reluctance to engage in relationships within that realm.

Expressing her discontent, she emphasized her desire to be recognized for her individuality beyond the scope of her romantic associations. Rejecting the notion of being solely defined by her relationships, she asserted her multifaceted identity and lamented the tendency for women in the industry to be reduced to their romantic connections.

She elaborated, expressing frustration at the tendency for women in the industry to be judged based on their partners, noting how their identity often becomes intertwined with their significant others. Fox emphasized her determination to break free from this pattern and establish her own identity separate from any romantic affiliations.

Announcing her participation in the upcoming design competition series OMG Fashun on E!, Fox revealed her ambition to transcend societal expectations and assert her independence. She affirmed her self-sufficiency and resolved to continue carving out her own path without relying on a man for validation or support.

Reflecting on her journey, the mother-of-one acknowledged her past accomplishments and expressed a desire to further establish herself professionally. Despite the challenges she faces, including the aftermath of her romance with Kanye West, Fox remains steadfast in her pursuit of independence and self-realization.

Julia Fox and Kanye West have called an end to their romance.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone who isn’t Julia Fox or Ye.

The “Uncut Gems” actor on Monday confirmed her breakup with the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, after mere weeks of dating.

The two had been flaunting their romance since meeting in Miami in early January, jet-setting in coordinating outfits, popping into Paris Fashion Week and handing out five-figure Hermès Birkin bags as party favors along the way.

Meanwhile, Fox drew comparisons to Ye’s estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, who has been dating “Saturday Night Live” actor Pete Davidson, much to Ye’s chagrin.

Fox took to her Instagram Stories to address the reports of her breakup with Kanye West, refuting claims of being tearful and asserting her resilience as a “hustler.” She dismissed notions of being portrayed as a sad and lonely figure, emphasizing her independence and determination to rise above media narratives. Despite acknowledging her past connection with West, she clarified that she wasn’t in love with him and maintained that they were on good terms.

In response to tabloid stories and misinformation, Fox has been setting the record straight on her social media, emphasizing her positive outlook and debunking rumors. She explained her recent appearance, attributing it to being rushed for a flight to see her son and father, rather than any emotional distress.

Sharing a video of herself at the airport wearing Yeezy Gap attire, Fox challenged the narrative of her being upset by sarcastically asking where the tears were. She also addressed her recent social media activity, including removing photos with West and unfollowing fan accounts, clarifying that it was due to wanting to avoid negative comments rather than indicating a breakup.

“Suddenly Instagram was not a fun place anymore,” she said on Instagram Stories, according to InStyle. “I took the f— photos down because I read the comments and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, you clearly only posted photos you looked good in.’”

Ye hasn’t yet publicly responded to the breakup news. His latest Instagram post on Monday afternoon was a plug for “Donda 2,” his new album slated for release next week. (Maybe.)

Fox previously said their relationship wasn’t a stunt and guessed that the instant obsession with her was “because I’m not the most obvious choice.”

“Maybe because I just came kind of out of left field and it was like, wait, what?” she said during a January episode of her “Forbidden Fruits” podcast on Spotify.
