Offset Snaps on Cardi B’s Behalf on Twitter: ‘Let’s Make a Bet My Girl Against Any Artist Man or Woman’

Offset continues to stand by his wife, blasting all the critics who’ve questioned her status in the game.

On Thursday night, the Migos member boldly suggested that Cardi B paved the way for other female rappers: “All you hoes rap cuz of my wife,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “Gave y’all hoes hope to not suck dick the rest of ya life and catch money.”

The comment immediately raised eyebrows, as some were convinced Offset was dismissing the accomplishments of the women MCs—like Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, and Nicki Minaj—who came before.

“I’m pretty sure female rappers existed before her…” one Twitter user wrote, to which Offset replied: “Well you go back and look after ‘[Bodak] Yellow’ the world followed suit.”

The Father of 4 artist continued to list some of Cardi’s accomplishments and reiterated his belief that his wife’s breakout single “gave hoes the dream to rap.”

Offset attempted to clarify his comments shortly after the initial tweetstorm. He said he was not speaking about the hip-hop artists who entered the game before Cardi but specifically addressing rappers who come from a similar background, working as bartenders and/or strippers.

Offset then touched on all the hate he and Cardi have received, insisting it was a testament to their success.

Offset came to Cardi’s defense a week ago, in the wake of her drugging and robbery scandal. A resurfaced video from three years ago features Cardi admitting to some serious crimes. “I had to go strip, I had to go, ‘Oh yeah, you want to fuck me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s go back to this hotel,’ and I drugged n***as up, and I robbed them,” she said during an Instagram Live broadcast. “That’s what I used to do.”

Cardi addressed the video shortly after it resurfaced, claiming she was not proud of her actions but “did what I had to do to survive.”
