The jeweler behind custom watches worn by Rihanna and countless other celebs was spotted on TikTok flashing a $1.5 million wristwatch – but internet denizens weren’t wowed by the pricey accessory.
Jacob Arabo, 58, is the man behind NYC’s legendary jewelry and wristwatch retailer Jacob & Co. – a brand name-dropped in countless rap songs and that likewise boasts a fanbase of hip-hop mega-stars from Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z to Kanye and Rihanna.
The New Yorker was captured over the summer by influencer Ayman Al Yaman outside of the Bugatti Residences in Dubai donning a Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon timepiece.
Amid his quick exchange with Ayman, Arabo also mentioned that the Green Sapphire Crystal version of the model on his wrist was an edition of ‘one of one’ – i.e. the only one in existence.

Someone else remarked, ‘It looks like an old school iMac’ – a sentiment echoed by a another commenter who scoffed, ‘looks like a clear plastic toy from the early 2000s’
But, after the video was re-shared by TikTok account @wristwatches, commenters on the post were less than dazzled by the glitzy timepiece.
‘I saw that watch in a claw machine the other day,’ one joked.
‘I got the same one from a McDonald’s Happy Meal in 2003,’ chimed in a second naysayer.
‘I could buy that at my Walmart for maybe at max 20 bucks’, echoed another.
Someone else remarked, ‘It looks like an old school iMac’ – a sentiment echoed by a another commenter who scoffed, ‘looks like a clear plastic toy from the early 2000s.’
‘Cost 150 tickets,’ joked a commenter of the wristwatch’s seeming similarity to the cheap plastic knickknacks offered as prizes in exchange for tickets won in arcade games.
‘Looks like a toy,’ another concurred.
According to Jacob & Co.’s website – on which the ‘Green Sapphire Crystal’ model of the watch isn’t listed – the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon was produced in collaboration with the luxury sports car brand to ‘to reproduce the visceral sensation of the iconic Bugatti 16-cylinder engine in a timepiece.’

Also resulting from Jacob & Co.’s collab with Bugatti is the Oil Pump timepiece – the face of which features mechanisms that resemble a miniature oil pumpjack in motion.
