ScHoolboy Q is dropping his new album this Friday and the promotional landscape has changed since then … but he’s rejecting one of the biggest platforms of the moment, Bobbi Althoff‘s podcast!!!

Q scratched Bobbi off his list while fielding questions about his “Blue Lips” album, but also was able to nix another bucket list item for the project … playing the album for Jay-Z!!!

Last week, the TDE rapper expressed his desire to give Jay-Z an exclusive preview of his upcoming album, and his wish came true on Monday when he and label president Punch visited the Roc Nation offices.

Q shared that Jay-Z requested to hear the preview again after listening to it. With both of their reputations at stake, they set a date for March 1, suggesting high expectations for the album’s quality. Notably, Jay-Z wore his Reebok S. Dot Carter sneakers for the occasion, hinting at the anticipation surrounding the album’s release.

The album marks Q’s first album in nearly 5 years … he’s more comfortable nestling up to the legends than newcomers at this stage in his career.

ScHoolboy Q Promises ‘Special’ Return For 2024

ScHoolboy Q hasn’t dropped a new album in over 4 years, but he’s ready to break the silence next year! While attending Top Dawg Entertainment’s 10th annual Christmas toy drive, Q praised his team for their ongoing community support. He noted that they actively engage in helping the community even outside of holiday events, but he still appreciated seeing everyone come together for the toy drive.

During the event, Q treated fans to some of his classic hits, including his platinum collaboration with Kanye West, “THat Part.” However, he also hinted at his comeback in 2024 with “something special.” L.A. rapper EastSide K-Boy proposed the idea of a comedy show for Q, which he didn’t dismiss. Fans speculated that his return might involve golf, a sport he has taken a keen interest in beyond just recreational purposes.

Q’s been playing in big, legit tournaments — he competed in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2022 and even appears in the “PGA Tour 2K23” video game.

Well, the Tiger Woods of rap is yelling, “Fore!!!”

Kendrick Lamar Shows Off Boxing Skills While Training at Gym

Kendrick Lamar may be small, but the man is mighty — that much we can tell by the way he trains in the ring.

The Grammy-winning rapper has been getting his box on lately at a gym in Northridge, CA — about 20 minutes north of L.A. — and TMZ Sports got a hold of what appears to be the only footage of Kendrick in the ring doing his thing. This clip is from earlier this year.

Dude’s from Compton, but it seems he’s been looking to keep an even lower profile than usual … ’cause we’re told this specific facility is pretty dang discreet.

As for what Kendrick has been getting into inside, welp … take a looksy for yourself. As it turns out, Kung Fu Kenny’s got hands — you can see him doing a vigorous round of focus mitt drills with a trainer … and we gotta say, KL could go toe-to-toe with any Joe there.

We’re told Kendrick went about four rounds of mitts on this outing — and he looked sharp all the way through. It’s unclear what he’s training for — maybe he’s just keeping fit?

Either way, the MC is no stranger to combat in his art. During his “DAMN” tour, he embraced the martial arts aesthetic in a video that accompanied his set, and homeboy could move.

Whether it’s boxing or kung fu fighting … Kendrick has made major strides from the way he used to throw down (jokingly, of course).

Here’s an old clip from 2015 of K-Dot and his labelmate, ScHoolboy Q, getting into it. Like we said … leaps and bounds.
