Zendaya is making waves during the press tour for the film “Challengers.” The actress, guided by her longtime stylist Law Roach, has been jet-setting around the globe to promote the movie, which hits theaters on April 26. Once again, Zendaya’s impeccable style steals the spotlight.

Her fashion choices are a tribute to “tenniscore” aesthetics, featuring lots of whites, pops of yellow-green hues, and shimmering silvers. Even down to the details, like woven wool felt balls on her shoes, Zendaya’s outfits are on point.

In “Challengers,” the 27-year-old star portrays a former tennis prodigy turned coach entangled in a love triangle with two tennis professionals, played by Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, the film promises to captivate audiences with its intriguing storyline and stellar cast.

Rome premiere

Zendaya made a stunning statement at the April 8 event, donning an all-white ensemble that revolved around a custom Calvin Klein skirt suit. The suit, which boasted a floor-length hemline and a daring high leg slit, exuded sophistication and elegance. Underneath the blazer, she opted for minimalism, wearing only a diamond serpent necklace. Completing her ensemble, Zendaya accessorized with diamond earrings, rings, and a striking snake ring, all courtesy of Bulgari, of which she is a brand ambassador. Her footwear of choice? Louboutins, adding a touch of glamour to her already impeccable look.

Zendaya served up a dress modeled on what a pro might wear — with pleats on the bottom — but it was a shimmery silver with a deep dipping V-neck. Completing the custom Loewe outfit was a true pièce de résistance: white pumps with tennis balls pierced by the heels.

Paris premiere

On April 6, Zendaya floated onto the red carpet in custom Louis Vuitton — a white strapless fitted bodice with a flowing chiffon skirt. The look was accessorized with a leather belt and, yes, more diamonds.

Paris photo-call

For an April 6 photo-call, Zendaya bounced in wearing tennis ball green (or is it yellow?): a shirt — that was mostly unbuttoned — and pants set from Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs’s 1999 spring collection. She toted a purse of the same hard-to-pull-off hue, along with strappy silver platform stilettos.

The fashion trifecta in the City of Light was capped off with another Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs look, from 2013. It’s a green-and-white checkered coat hitting the thigh — with white pumps. Zendaya also wore a white headband with a bow.

Sydney premiere

Zendaya tipped us off to her style game plan, wearing a different custom Loewe dress on March 26 as the press tour kicked off Down Under. That one was a playful sparkling green, with a generous leg slit, featuring a tennis racket and ball design. The shoes were the same color, and the diamond earrings were triple-tiered.

Fashion inspiration

In the May issue of Vogue, Zendaya revealed her approach to fashion inspiration, citing Beyoncé as a source for channeling her inner fashion icon on the red carpet and during photoshoots. Just as Beyoncé has her alter ego Sasha Fierce, Zendaya creates her own style-slaying persona.

Zendaya described this persona as a “different being” that inhabits her when she steps onto the red carpet. She likened it to a mental commitment, where she fully embraces and embodies this fantasy version of herself.

Her stylist, Law Roach, explained that after Zendaya’s show-stopping appearances during the Dune: Part Two tour, they adopted a method acting approach to dressing. The outfits they chose were deliberate extensions of the wardrobe from the movie, serving as intentional and purposeful expressions of Zendaya’s character.

Despite the anticipation and reactions that come with Zendaya’s fashion choices, Roach emphasized that they don’t base their decisions on predictions of others’ reactions. Instead, their focus remains on storytelling through fashion, prioritizing authenticity and narrative in their style selections.
