$100,000 or More for a 2 Chainz Verse

It’s no surprise that a verse from 2 Chainz costs upwards of six figures. The rap vet has been in the game for over two decades, evolving from his time as Tity Boi in the group Playaz Circle and standing on his own as the solo star he is today. Throughout his lauded career, which includes six studio albums and plenty of multiplatinum hits, he’s been featured on plenty of artists’ songs, flexing his elite rhymes in a guest verse.

So how much does a 2 Chainz verse cost? In 2013, he spoke to BBC Radio 1Xtra about the big cash a fellow artist would have to drop to have him bless their song. “A hunnid grand,” he said. “Now let me stop, man, ’cause I know there’s people out here listenin’, man. Look, I’m enjoyin’ life, OK. You would be doin’ the same thing. Don’t look down upon me ’cause you like, ‘Who’s gonna pay that full verse?’ Your favorite rapper paid it. Don’t even worry about it.” That was nearly 10 years ago, so the price has likely gone up by now. We wouldn’t be surprised if he’s charging $250k these days.

$150,000 for a Polo G Verse

Polo G’s price has been going up for some time now. With the success of his new track “Rapstar,” which went No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April, the cost for a feature might go up a few notches. IN October of 2020, the 2020 XXL Freshman said he’s charging $85,000 for a feature. “Features 85 Rackzz but the price keep goin up ,” the Chicago rhymer tweeted last October. “I remember doin features fa 200$;Grind Neva Stop .” However, during a recent interview with GQ magazine, the Billboard-charting rapper now says that his price for a feature varies. If the artist is someone Polo has worked with prior, he’s willing to negotiate on the price, but he recently did a feature for $150,000. So, expect him to keep going up on the price for a verse.

$300,000 for a DaBaby Verse

If you’re looking to have the North Carolina-bred spitter on your track, he’s expecting $300,000. He’s graduated to the big leagues.

While reflecting via Instagram what he once charged for a verse, DaBaby revealed that his price has risen astronomically since he first touched a mic. Sharing an image of a screenshot from his “Leave Me Alone (Freestyle)” on YouTube, DaBaby wrote, “From 5k a verse to 300k.”

$300,000 for a YoungBoy Never Broke Again Verse

Being one of the hottest young rappers in the game, it honestly makes sense that YoungBoy Never Broke Again would be requiring a pretty penny to get on a track. In December of 2021, YoungBoy’s manager, Alex Junnier, put the rapper’s fee on Instagram, sharing that it will take $300,000 plus to get a 16 from the Louisiana rapper.

Junnier advertised this as “end of the year features,” which means this may have been a discounted number. This is also presumably only for the verse, meaning getting YB to appear in your video could mean even more racks spent.

Then, in September of 2023, Never Broke Again label cofounder and NBA YoungBoy’s frequent collaborator OG 3Three hit up Instagram to announce that a YB feature would run a rapper a cool $200,000 for “serious inquiries only.” Also, according to OG 3Three, it would cost an additional $50,000 if one wishes YoungBoy to appear in a music video along with the guest verse.

$300,000 for a Lil Baby Verse

Nearly three years ago, Lil Baby said he wanted at least $100,000 for a verse. The Atlanta rapper let his fans and rapper peers know on July 26, 2020, that he wanted no less than $100,000 to hop on a track. And at the time, he considered his price a steal. He tweeted, “Ima feel offended if you want a verse from me but don’t got a 100k …. ‘respect my hustle.’ An 100k cheap by the way do your streaming research.” This came after Baby said he wanted $100,000 for a verse and Pierre “P” Thomas, the head of Quality Control Music, the label Baby is signed to, told the rapper to up the ante to $200,000.

Now, however, in October of 2022, Baby said he’s officially charging $300,000 on an episode of Big Loon’s The Experience podcast.

During an interview on the Full Send Podcast, Lil Durk revealed that he charges $350,000 for a verse if he doesn’t know who you are. And he’s got proof for anyone who wants it. “If I don’t know you? I ain’t gon’ lie, I gotta go $350,000. $500,000 or More for a Nicki Minaj Verse

Nicki Minaj has one of the most stacked catalogs in the game. Multiplatinum songs and albums, solo tracks that have become quintessential anthems, collaborations that have hit No. 1 and feature verses that tend to outshine the artist she’s working with. When the Queens-bred MC hops on a track, the end result is music to her fans’ ears.

While some rappers don’t come right out and say what they charge for a verse, Nicki gets straight to the point. Working with this hip-hop dynamo will cost a grip. “I just got $250,000 for a verse, nigga/I—I—I don’t know, is it me or it’s your thirst, nigga?” she raps on YG’s “My Nigga (Remix)” also featuring Lil Wayne, Rich Homie Quan, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj in 2014. Seven years later, Nicki’s rate for a feature verse has reportedly doubled at this point. Nigerian singer Davido attests to that. In an interview with W magazine in 2020, he said Nicki charges $500,000 for a verse. “Nicki be charging people $500,000 for verses,” Davido revealed. “And she did it for me for free.” So start saving your coins.

“Six figures” for a 21 Savage Verse

It’s no secret that 21 Savage has become Drake’s go-to feature artist. Although it’s unlikely he’s charging Drizzy anything for his bars, 21’s manager Meezy revealed in January of 2021 that a verse is going to run you six figures. “Dawg a 21 Savage feature is 6 FIGURES,” Meezy wrote in a tweet. “Y’all gotta stop wit da ‘check ya dm bra u playin’ lol naw cause when u get hit wit da ticket u ain’t built for it.”

$2,000 Per Word for a J. Cole Verse

According to J. Cole himself, he’s more expensive than any rapper who has revealed their verse price thus far. During a guest feature on Young Thug’s “The London,” Cole raps “A verse from me is like eleven birds/Just did the math, that’s like two thousand dollars every word.”
