Taylor Swift’s rigorous workout regimen, designed by her trainer, involves tailored sessions to prepare her for the demands of her lengthy performances on The Eras Tour. Myers approaches her training like that of a professional athlete, dividing it into off-season and in-season periods corresponding to her touring schedule.

During the off-season, Swift dedicates up to six days a week to gym sessions, lasting as long as two hours each. These sessions primarily focus on building strength, conditioning, and targeting her core muscles, which are crucial for sustaining her performance stamina while singing and dancing on stage.

Even while on tour, Swift remains committed to her fitness routine, training consistently throughout. During the tour season, sessions are adjusted to focus more on maintenance, emphasizing stability, mobility, and biomechanics to support her rigorous performance schedule.

Myers emphasized Swift’s dedication to her fitness, noting that despite the physical intensity of her performances, she still makes time for gym sessions during her limited off days. He encouraged fans interested in emulating Swift’s fitness routine to prioritize strength and conditioning exercises, along with focusing on proper breathing techniques during core workouts.

Myers praises Taylor Swift’s remarkable resilience, describing her as the most resilient person he has ever met. He finds her ability to consistently overcome obstacles and emerge stronger incredibly inspiring, a quality that is evident not only in her personal life but also in her approach to training and workouts.

When challenging her with difficult exercises or demanding workouts, Myers observes that Swift not only completes them with determination but also pushes through and perseveres, always ready for the next challenge. This resilience ultimately contributes to her physical strength, improvement, and overall performance.

Despite their professional relationship, Myers admits to being a fan of Swift’s music even before they met. He particularly enjoys tracks like “Shake It Off,” “22,” and “If I Were a Man.” While he hasn’t intentionally played her music during their training sessions, he acknowledges that it sometimes finds its way onto their workout playlist, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to their sessions.

In December, Swift opened up about her rigorous workout routine that she underwent to prepare for her Eras Tour, which included unconventional methods like running on a treadmill while singing and abstaining from alcohol.

Acknowledging the immense physical demands of the tour, she admitted it was the toughest endeavor she had ever embarked on. Swift began her training six months prior to the tour’s commencement at Myers’ gym, Dogpound, renowned for its cutting-edge facilities and personalized training programs.

One particularly unique aspect of her preparation involved performing her entire setlist while running on a treadmill. This exercise aimed to simulate the conditions of her live performances, ensuring she could maintain her vocal prowess while navigating the stage.

“Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” Swift shared, elaborating on her routine. She adjusted her pace to match the tempo of each song, sprinting for faster tracks and adopting a jog or brisk walk for slower ones. This meticulous approach allowed her to hone both her vocal stamina and physical endurance in tandem.

In addition to her vocal training regimen, Swift also dedicated herself to strength and conditioning workouts, incorporating weight training into her routine.

Three months prior to the tour, she intensified her preparation by collaborating closely with choreographer Mandy Moore to master the intricate dance routines. Swift revealed that while she had limited experience with choreography, she was determined to excel and committed to three months of rigorous dance training to ensure she was fully prepared.

Moore, recommended to Swift by her friend Emma Stone, whom she had worked with on the film La La Land, played a pivotal role in honing Swift’s dance skills. Swift emphasized the importance of thorough preparation, aiming to achieve a level of proficiency where she could engage freely with her fans without losing focus.

Reflecting on her past experiences on tour, Swift acknowledged a shift in her approach, moving away from the stereotypical rockstar lifestyle towards a more disciplined and focused mindset. This time around, she prioritized preparation and professionalism, determined to deliver an unforgettable performance for her fans.

Taylor (seen at rehearsals) admitted, 'Learning choreography is not my strong suit. I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought'

‘Taylor is the most resilient person I have ever met,’ Myers adds. ‘It’s super-inspiring to see her consistently overcome obstacles and become better and stronger in the end. This also translates into her training and throughout her workouts.

She explained that she cut out alcohol completely ahead of the tour, adding, ‘Doing that show with a hangover… I don’t want to know that world.’

While reflecting on the impressive length of her show, Taylor said that she wanted to give her fans something special since she knew how hard they had to work to get there.

When the Eras Tour tickets first went on sale last year – millions failed to get their hands on a ticket, which lead to a highly-publicized war between Swifties and the company that sold them, Ticketmaster.

‘They had to work really hard to get the tickets,’ Taylor noted. ‘I wanted to play a show that was longer than they ever thought it would be, because that makes me feel good leaving the stadium.’

And putting on the immense performance certainly takes a toll on Taylor. She usually performs two or three shows in a row which is followed by a bunch of days off before the next set of concerts.

She admitted that she needs a full day to recover after she finishes a run of shows, and that she can ‘barely speak’ or walk afterwards.

'I knew this tour was harder than anything I¿d ever done before by a long shot,' she told Time magazine, who has named her 2023's Person of the Year

‘I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to my bed and eat it there [for the first day after the shows],’ she revealed.

‘It’s a dream scenario. I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels.’

But no matter how sore she is, Taylor vowed that nothing will keep her from getting back on the stage when the next concert comes.

‘I know I’m going on that stage whether I’m sick, injured, heartbroken, uncomfortable, or stressed,’ she added.

‘That’s part of my identity as a human being now. If someone buys a ticket to my show, I’m going to play it unless we have some sort of force majeure.’

Swift expressed her hope that her concert, which revisits her past “eras,” will inspire others to embrace their journey and celebrate their growth.

She emphasized the significance of every phase and experience in shaping an individual, recognizing that each moment represents a person’s journey of self-discovery and growth with the resources and knowledge available at the time.

Acknowledging that certain aspects of her past may elicit cringe-worthy reactions, Swift encouraged embracing one’s current self, acknowledging the progress made, and embracing the journey ahead. She advocated for a celebration of personal evolution, urging others to embrace their past, present, and future selves with acceptance and pride.
