“The 14-Month Marriage Journey Ends”:Britney Spears Completes Divorce With Sam Asghari-HO

They were married for just 14 months.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are one step closer to making their divorce official. Eight months after first announcing their split, the former couple have finalized the terms of their separation, per court documents exclusively obtained by Page Six.

According to the docs–which were filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday night and are pending a judge’s signature—Spears and Asghari have maintained the terms of their prenuptial agreement, and the pop star will walk away with her jewelry, personal items, and earnings she made before, during, and after the pair’s marriage in 2022.

“Britney is continuing to turn the page—the stories of her going broke are ridiculous and demonstrably false,” a source told Page Six of her current financial situation, adding that her divorce was settled “amicably” due to an “ironclad prenup.”

While they didn’t share any children together, the exes did reach a custody agreement concerning the ownership of their five dogs. Asghari is now the sole owner of their doberman, Porsha, while Spears received full custody of the other four pups—including her Australian Shepherd, Sawyer, and Yorkie named Hannah.

Spears and Asghari tied the knot in June 2022 after six years of dating. They separated 14 months later, with Asghari filing for divorce from Spears on August 16, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.” He listed their actual date of separation as July 28 and requested that Spears pay him spousal support and his attorneys’s fees.

He emphasized the importance of preserving the love and respect they have for each other and wished Spears well in the future. Asghari acknowledged the challenges of the situation, adopting a candid tone and requesting kindness and thoughtfulness from everyone, including the media.

He continued, “Shit happens. Asking for privacy seems [ridiculous] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”

Sam’s Instagram Story wasn’t the only platform addressing the rumors about the split. His representative also issued a statement to People magazine.

“There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” Brandon Cohen from BAC Talent said. “However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.”

Although Spears hasn’t publicly commented on the breakup, she has posted several times on Instagram since the divorce announcement. Among these posts is a cryptic video that some fans speculate may allude to the split.

“Sometimes you see more with your eyes closed 🙈 !!!” she captioned a video on Thursday of a painting that shows a woman sleeping.

Sam and Britney first met on the set of Spears’s “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and dated for six years before eventually tying the knot in June 2022. The pair was married for 14 months.
