On June 30th, Taylor Swift posted a letter addressing her feud with talent manager Scooter Braun (who manages artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Madison Beer…) and her former record label Big Machine Records over the sale of the master recordings of her first six albums. The singer stated that her former record label did not allow her the opportunity to purchase back the recordings. Instead, they sold the rights to Scooter, who has had conflicts with Taylor in the past. In the past, Taylor has had several disputes with artists managed by Scooter, such as Justin Bieber and Kanye West.

Taylor’s letter was posted alongside a screenshot of a 2016 post by Justin Bieber. In the post, the singer, along with Scooter Braun and Kanye West, teased and challenged Taylor Swift. Justin Bieber immediately refuted the allegations, stating that their past actions were merely jokes and not malicious. He criticized Taylor, accusing her of exploiting her fans to tarnish the reputation of Scooter Braun – his manager.The incident attracted many celebrities to weigh in. They divided into two camps. Supermodel Cara Delevingne, singer Halsey, and many other artists stated they would stand by Taylor Swift. Her fans launched a social media campaign on Twitter demanding that the record label sell back the ownership rights of the master recordings to the singer. Meanwhile, Demi Lovato and Sia defended Scooter Braun and agreed with Justin Bieber’s viewpoint.

In 2009, Taylor Swift found herself in a feud with Kanye West. At the MTV Video Music Awards that year, the American rapper stormed the stage, snatching the microphone from Taylor as she received the award for “Best Female Video.” He claimed that singer Beyonce deserved the accolade instead.In 2016, Kanye revisited the scandal with Taylor in his song “Famous.” He claimed credit for Taylor’s fame in the lyrics. In the music video for the song, the male artist hired an actor resembling Taylor, depicted naked lying next to him. Kanye also used derogatory language to refer to the singer in the song.Kanye West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, also got involved in the feud. The reality star claimed that her husband had sought Taylor’s permission before releasing the song “Famous,” and it was granted. However, Taylor denied Kim’s claims, stating that while Kanye did call her, they did not discuss the specific lyrics of the song. Subsequently, Kim posted a recorded conversation online as evidence, alleging that Taylor was being deceitful. Taylor countered by asserting that the recording was manipulated and fake.

In 2013, Katy Perry hired three backup dancers who were touring with Taylor Swift to join her own tour. According to Rolling Stone, Taylor subsequently wrote the song “Bad Blood,” which talked about a female pop singer who had “betrayed” her. “She tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” the singer said. Fans suspected that Taylor was referring to Katy Perry. Shortly after the interview was published, Katy posted a cryptic tweet: “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”In response to Taylor’s “Bad Blood” music video, in 2017, Katy and rapper Nicki Minaj released the song “Swish Swish.” Rolling Stone analyzed the title, which evokes the sound of a snake (Taylor’s emblem). The lyrics also contain several references to the conflict between the two. In 2018, the pair began to reconcile after Katy publicly apologized to Taylor on social media. They became friends and often exchanged gifts. On June 17th, Katy appeared in Taylor’s music video “You Need to Calm Down” as a guest star.Demi Lovato has criticized Taylor Swift on multiple occasions. She referred to Taylor as someone who promotes “fake feminism” when making music videos to attack Katy Perry. Demi also condemned Taylor for selecting thin models in the “Bad Blood” music video, encouraging unrealistic body standards for women.

Taylor Swift and her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas had a period of conflict following their breakup. In 2008, they dated for three months. Taylor claimed that Joe ended their relationship over a 27-second phone call. Joe retaliated, stating that Taylor was the one who hung up on him first and portrayed herself as a victim, distorting information to tarnish his image. Taylor wrote two songs, “Last Kiss” and “Forever and Always,” about their breakup. However, they gradually resolved their differences in 2015. In 2010, Taylor released the song “Dear John,” which was believed to be about her relationship with singer John Mayer. John stated that he felt “humiliated” by the lyrics of the song and that Taylor did not inform him about it beforehand. “Taylor didn’t tell me she was releasing the song. The lyrics were humiliating, and I didn’t deserve it,” John told Rolling Stone magazine. Taylor did not comment on her ex-boyfriend’s statement.
