Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, has been interacting more on social media with Colombian singer Shakira after a long period of rumored discord between the two.

Over the past year, Messi’s wife has frequently expressed emotions and commented on the personal page of the Colombian singer. Most recently, when the 46-year-old singer posted a photo wearing a stunning green dress at the MTV Awards last week, Antonela wrote underneath: “So beautiful” along with a series of clapping emojis. More than 12,000 people “liked” Messi’s wife’s comment. The mother of three also received positive responses when someone praised, “You look just like her, a goddess.”

Earlier this year, when Shakira shared about her broken love, Antonela expressed empathy with broken heart emojis. Last summer, when Shakira’s father fell seriously ill and was hospitalized, Messi’s wife also encouraged the singer who is more than 11 years older.

Marca commented that clearly, there is a good friendship between Messi’s wife and Shakira, which has even improved now as both are living in Miami, USA.

However, when Shakira was still dating Pique and Pique was playing at Barca alongside Messi, the Colombian beauty and Messi’s wife were rumored not to get along. Sources in Spain suggest that Antonela, being close friends with Nuria Tomas – Pique’s ex-girlfriend – didn’t like Shakira, especially when it was rumored that Pique left Nuria Tomas for Shakira.

In 2018, there were reports of Shakira yelling at Messi’s wife at a barbecue party at Messi’s house after a Barca match. A heated argument ensued, and Pique and Shakira left afterward. Tensions between the two WAGs escalated when Shakira was reportedly asked to leave the Barca WAGs’ group chat and was not allowed in the WAGs’ area.

Both Shakira and Antonela have not confirmed any feud. They were both invited to the wedding in 2017, and they were seen taking selfies together when Barca won La Liga in 2019.
