“This achievement is EXTREMELY GREAT” Taylor Swift is declared a BILLIONAIRE by Forbes as she joins the list for the first time following Eras Tour success-HO

Taylor Swift has officially reached billionaire status – 17 years into her illustrious career as music’s biggest superstar.

On Tuesday, Forbes released their 2024 billionaire list and Taylor climbed to fourteenth place with a $1.1billion fortune.

The pop star, aged 34, has emerged as the most prominent newcomer on the list, amassing an estimated fortune of $1.1 billion. This remarkable wealth is attributed to various sources, including earnings from her highly successful Eras tour, the substantial value of her music catalog, and her diverse real estate portfolio.

Notably, her earnings are further bolstered by the re-recording of her first six albums, a strategic move made while negotiating with streaming platforms to assert control over how her music is monetized.

What makes this achievement truly exceptional is that she joins a select few who have reached the billion-dollar milestone solely through their music career and live performances. This underscores her immense influence and financial success within the music industry, marking a significant milestone in her career trajectory.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour made history by becoming the first tour to surpass the $1 billion milestone, as reported by Pollstar’s year-end charts for 2023.

Not only did Swift’s groundbreaking Eras Tour claim the top spot as the number one tour globally and in North America, but it also generated an astounding $1.04 billion in revenue (£831.6 million). This remarkable achievement was accomplished through the sale of 4.35 million tickets across 60 tour dates, as revealed by the concert trade publication.

Pollstar data is pulled from box office reports, venue capacity estimates, historical Pollstar venue ticket sales data and other undefined research, collected from November 17, 2022 to November 15, 2023.

Representatives for the publication did not provide immediate clarification regarding whether they adjusted past tour data to account for inflation when declaring Taylor Swift as the first artist to surpass the billion-dollar threshold.

Swift’s tour commenced in March in Arizona, marking the beginning of her historic journey towards achieving this monumental milestone.

Pollstar also found that Swift brought in approximately $200 million (£159.8 million) in merch sales.
