The co-owner of Inter Miami revealed the process of successfully recruiting Lionel Messi last season.

Beckham played an important role in recruiting Messi from Inter Miami.
“My wife and I were in Japan at the time Messi announced his arrival at Inter Miami,” David Beckham revealed on the program The Life of Mine on March 23. “It was about 4 or 5 a.m., and my phone kept popping up with notifications. Victoria (Beckham’s wife – reporter) told me to turn off the phone.”

“I picked up the phone and saw the news that Messi announced his move to Inter Miami. I sat down on the bed and started crying. My wife didn’t understand what was going on. She asked: ‘What’s going on, has someone just passed away or what? “, the former MU player recounted.

Last June, Messi agreed to join Inter Miami after his contract with PSG expired. Beckham revealed that the negotiation process between Inter Miami owners and Messi’s family began in 2018, when the American club had not yet been established.

Beckham disclosed that he and Jorge Mas, another shareholder at Inter Miami, had to sequester themselves in a hotel to negotiate with Messi’s father.

“I instructed Jorge that he and his wife needed to head to the airport right away. I didn’t think we could finalize Messi’s signing until he touched down at the airport in Florida,” Beckham elaborated.

Beckham and the Inter Miami ownership group harbor aspirations of raising the club’s profile. Messi’s anticipated arrival is poised to generate significant buzz for both the home team and the American Professional League (MLS). Indeed, all signs point to positive developments for Beckham and his associates.

Watch: ‘I heard McDonald’s are hiring’ Brooklyn Beckham mocked over recipe

Brooklyn Beckham regularly shows off his culinary skills and despite some of his recipes sparking quite the backlash, the 25-year-old hasn’t been put off cooking.

In the past, he has tackled pretty straightforward recipes such as a Sunday roast and even showed us how to make interesting drinks (which many of us knew how to make already.)

His latest creation was a Flying Dutchman. For those scratching their heads over what that might be, it’s a burger with onion. To add to it, Brooklyn made some chips to go on the side.

The video, which was a sponsored advertisement, saw Brooklyn grind the meat, grill it with cheese, add slices of onion and make homemade chips to go with it…. Chips that were fried in avocado oil that costs nearly €25 a bottle!

It seems like Beckham received some heat from his followers, as expected.

One commenter quipped, “I heard McDonald’s are hiring,” while others were quick to point out discrepancies in his ingredients. One sympathized, lamenting, “No, not the processed cheese slices!” Another chimed in, noting, “Not the right kind of potato to make fries.”

Jumping to his defense, dad David told people: ‘My boy just loves to cook. Just like dad. Burger was soooo good Bust.’

Victoria, who has a notoriously strict diet, also showed her support, soon following in her husband’s footsteps and cheekily saying: ‘He gets it from me!!’

Brooklyn, who previously tried his hand at being a photographer, surely has to be given ten out of ten for effort in the kitchen but many of his followers were wondering what kind of training he has to be making these chef videos.

It sounds like Brooklyn tried his hand at cooking with his online show, “Cookin’ With Brooklyn,” back in 2021. In one episode, he whipped up a plate of steamed clams, stone crab, and pasta. Describing himself as “experimental” and a “nutter,” he even dabbled in mixology, making a cocktail with gin and tonic.

While his burger and chips might have looked appetizing, it seems David might want to enlist Gordon Ramsay’s help to give his eldest son a few cooking tips!
