“We talk and communication is key”: Offset discusses relationship with wife Cardi B in a recent podcast

American rapper Offset and Bronx rapper Cardi B’s relationship has made headlines multiple times for years. As two very influential rappers of this age with a huge number of followers, it is next to impossible for them to keep their private lives hidden. The couple got secretly married on September 20, 2017, and has been married for six years now. And they share two children, daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, 5, and son Wave Set Cephus, 2.

The rapper appeared on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast on October 18, 2023. They discussed some facets of his personal life – including his marriage to Cardi B and his music.

Speaking on his relationship with his wife, the former Migos member said that communication was the most important bit.

Offset also further revealed how the couple had to go through a very difficult and challenging phase in their marriage, but they got through it mainly because of their dedication to one another.

Offset opens up on cheating scandal and gushes over his wife

According to Offset, when one is in a relationship, one should not hold back from communicating with one another. Honest communication is what got the Stir Fry hitmaker and his wife to get over a rough patch in their relationship and make amends. Offset referred to the 2017 cheating scandal, where shortly after his marriage, a video surfaced on the internet of the rapper and a woman entering a hotel.

The compromising footage implicated that Offset had been cheating on his wife, Cardi B. Later that year, a model named Celine Powell claimed that she was pregnant with the rapper’s child, which added fuel to Offset’s cheating rumors.

In the podcast, Offset came clean about his past mistakes and reflected on how communicating with his wife helped him get past a crisis.

“Like, we just talk more and, because, you know, work was getting in the way, sometimes and it was like, [phew] and we would talk all the time but communication is key. If you don’t like some s***, tell me, and if I don’t like some s***, I’ll tell you.”

The father of five confessed that what he did back then was indeed very selfish on his part and that his wife can choose to be selfish as well, as a way of getting back at him for breaking her trust, but he’s lucky that she’s “loyal.”

The FAN singer gushed about his wife Cardi B:

“Luckily, I have a very loyal one.”

The Bodak Yellow hitmaker herself had addressed this in a separate interview with Cosmopolitan on March 19, 2018, where she went on record to say that she has forgiven Offset for his mistake. She also stated that they are both working on rebuilding and healing their relationship.

“I know I’m rich, I know I’m talented. I know I could get any man I want — any basketball player, football player. But I want to work out my s–t with my man, and I don’t got to explain why. I’m not your property. This is my life … I’m going to take my time, and I’m going to decide on my decision … it’s not right, what he f–king did — but people don’t know what I did, ’cause I ain’t no angel.”

Though not free from cheating rumors, the couple has since then been in a good place, and luckily for fans, they have continued their musical collaborations. Their latest collaborative single, JEALOUSY, was released earlier this year, and needless to say, it did not disappoint their fans.
