“I Was So Devastated”- Magic Johnson Praises Nuggets as Lakers Failed to Hold 20-Point Lead
NBA great Magic Johnson also joined the group of people stunned by Jamal Murray’s game-winning shot from yesterday night’s 101-99 victory, in addition to Lakers supporters. The Los Angeles Lakers inability to hold onto a 20-point lead while playing on the road was already disheartening, but losing a game on a disputed jumper was especially heartbreaking.
Magic Johnson, regarded as one of the most notable individuals in LA Lakers history, admitted that it took him some time to comprehend what had transpired after Game 2. After a game where the purple and gold unit had the opportunity to win, it was one of those heartbreaking defeats.
“Last night I was so devastated I couldn’t even tweet. An unebeliavable shot by Jamal Murray, and an outstanding comeback by the Nuggets.” Magic Johnson posted on X.
It worked out for Murray at the perfect time, given that he was not in a steady offensive flow, shooting 9 of 24 for 20 points, according to the NBA website.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have a challenging task in trying to rally from a 2-0 hole in their first-round series against the Denver Nuggets. In either case, the series might be tied at two games apiece when the ball goes to their home court for Games 3 and 4.
Magic Johnson Defended AD and James, as He Previously Stated That Guards Have to Do Their Best
After Saturday night’s 114-103 Game 1 defeat to the Denver Nuggets, five-time NBA Champion Magic Johnson criticized D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves for their poor shooting efforts.
“This Lakers loss isn’t LeBron or AD’s fault. Just like I said the other day … the guards had to play well — and they didn’t. Dlo was 1/9 from the 3-point line, Reaves was quiet most of the game, and they only combined for 26 points.” Magic Johnson posted on X.
Murray ended up benefiting from it at the ideal time, given that he struggled to find his offensive flow and shot just 9 of 24 for 20 points.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have a challenging task ahead of them in the first-round series vs the Denver Nuggets, as they trail 2-0. But, to draw the series at two games apiece, the ball will return to their home court for Games 3 and 4.
