During ESPN’s coverage of the 2024 NFL Draft, the network worked in a way to mention Clark in the context of Thursday’s selection process.

ESPN showed some childhood photos of Clark wearing Chiefs gear as a young fan in Des Moines, Iowa — followed by a plug for her WNBA debut.

This NFL draft mention has Clark once again trending on social media.

“Caitlin Clark/WNBA ad followed by a mention during the NFL Draft. The synergy! The communication and connection between ESPN rights packages! You love to see it,” Sarah Spain wrote.

Nope. ‘She grew up a Chiefs fan! Anyways here is Mel Kiper’s best available,'” another said.

“Could Caitlin Clark play wide receiver? Asking for a friend,” another added.

“NFL TALKING ABOUT CAITLIN CLARK, I’M SCREAMING!” another wrote.

Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft earlier this month. Caleb Williams went off the board No. 1 to the Chicago Bears in tonight’s NFL selection process.

Tonight’s mention of Clark continues to display the influence she possesses over the growth of women’s basketball.
